The people on the roll call for my cruise on August 22 reported being able to start picking their boarding groups on June 23, which was 60 days before our cruise. I did not book the cruise until the end of July, so I missed out on getting Group A. Plus I had to call because the app wasn't working correctly on my phone at the time. A rep was able to get me in Group B. This should work out with my flight if everything is on time.

I'm 48 days out for my Oct 6th cruise and still can't select my group, book the lotus spa, or book anything other than same time each night MDR reservations. Are you in a suite? I'm wondering if that's why I can't select a group or book those yet since I'm just in an aft balcony. I'm getting frustrated. I can already book Lotus spa reservations for our Nov 2022 Hawaii cruise so it seems silly that I can't for one only 48 days out.

Per chance, is your sailing out of Seattle or one of the ports out of California?  I saw a notice from someone that they are still making arrangements for the port of Los Angeles before they can set up arrival groups.  We are in one out of LA in Sept and still aren't able to set up our arrival group but, I was able to make appointments for the spa and also make reservations for dining.

I have read the same a couple of times.  I see this as a Princess excuse to give callers.  Princess has operated in the same ports, using the same terminals for many years.  They know their voyage itineraries.  To suggest they need more negotiations with ports to figure out Arrival Group times is a bit disingenuous IMO.

ETA - We are talking a matter of a small number of weeks before these voyages depart.

If you play a slot machine and have money left which you then transfer to your "account," it is to a casino account associated with your Medallion. These amounts do not show on your mail folio.

There are only two ways to use this money.

a) Use it in the casino until it is all gone (somehow not everyone is an overall winner in the casino).

b) Go to the casino cashier and get it in cash.

You are correct.  I was wrong and not thinking clearly on that one.  Also, thank you for telling me earlier that my experience of having my card locked  on moving machines did not really occur.  I could have sworn it did.  But then, I defer to you.

For those of you on the 8/15 sailing, check your shipboard account often and make sure your charges all make sense to you.  I was on the 8/8 majestic sailing and had 4 charges that weren't mine! One of which was a $600 whale watching excursion in which the excursion desk showed me a receipt with my cabin number and a signature on it which was from no one in my family.  3 other charges were for liquor or coffee of which we did not purchase.  Just wanted to give you a heads up! It's kind of scary how this can happen and none of the staff can explain it.

Whoa!  Good lesson.  I will be sure to check daily what the Medallion thinks I'm buying.

I check ours at least twice daily. It’s easy now that it’s on the app (and on the cabin TV). I had issues with our drink package and received erroneous charges the first two days of the cruise. I told Guest Services that I hoped I wasn’t going to be there every day with issues, and haven’t had one since. DH asked if I used my “tone” when I said that. I have no idea what he’s talking about. 😉

The old ways were the best. Pick a slot. Pull money from your right pocket and put it in the machine. Any winnings go into the left pocket. Repeat until right pocket is empty. Walk away from the machine.

The APP stopped working on Thursday last week for us to view shipboard charges as well as viewing the shipboard account on the TV.  It was a shipwide issue, even the customer service desk could only view them and not print so they had long lines trying to help passengers see their charges.

Gosh! That's terrible. People should be able to see what the bottom line is before leaving the ship.

They never provided a final copy until after the cruise, I received mine on Monday when I got home but I definitely stopped at the service desk on Sunday before we got off the ship to verify it was what I thought it would be.

Hmmmm…I don’t recall having an issue with that and we were watching ours carefully to see what the balance would be when it got carried over to this cruise.

I guess you were lucky, I stood in a massive line on Thursday when the information no longer showed up for me and many people were having issues.  They told us it was a shipwide issue.  Be glad you didn't get wrapped up in that hot mess. 😀

Maybe Princess is giving everyone free drinks 🍹 rather than deal with the problems.   Are there a lot of overly happy passengers?

I had trouble with it on Thursday too.  That's when Wifi was the worst.  I was able to pull it up intermittently until Saturday afternoon when it stopped working for good.  I visited Passenger Services on Sunday AM before disembarking to make one final check on that and to ask about the Log of the Cruise (which was discontinued).  I sure hope they can get the bugs worked out of the app.  By the way, I did include all of this on the post cruise survey that I completed today which basically gave glowing reviews to onboard staff / crew and (mostly) scathing comments about their botched technology.

Totally agree and I finished my survey as well last night.  I made sure to recognize 5 staff members that really stood out to me but also detailed several issues I encountered throughout the week that made for a pretty bad experience.  (ALL of which revolved around technology issues)

Yesterday's Meet & Greet. New captain came on Sunday and he graciously came up a little later as he was understandably quite busy

I am trying to set up a meet and greet for our Sept. 5 sailing.  I would appreciate it if you could tell me who your contact person was.

I just roll the window down on the way to the ship and throw dollars out the window. That way, I can skip the casino.

We have gifted reservations at the Crown Grill next week. Since we couldn't care less about eating at a specialty restaurant, can it be traded for something like breakfast in our cabin?

Maybe, but the CG is $39/pp = $78.

Ultimate balcony breakfast costs $45 for 2 IIRC

Ultimate balcony dinner costs $100 IIRC

As you can see, the math doesn't work out.

I think that the Crown Grill is $29pp, unless they just recently increased the prices
