What everyone did in the past may not be possible under this new times. Has anyone cruising on the 3 previous voyages experienced this or was it just me?

IMHO this is to prevent using the casino to obtain cash from non-refundable OBC. I only had 100 of that, everything else was refundable and gratuities will be >100

Could be.  I didn't think the Casino staff would know anything about folio details and what was Non-Ref OBC and what was Ref.  Perhaps there has been some software updates.

If expenditures (I am assuming no PLUS) like Grats and drinks exceed the Non-Ref OBC total, then should be no issue.

Thank you for posting this information.  I called CVS this morning to ask the same question.  Her response was surprising.  She suggested that I get the rapid NAAT test rather than the rapid antigen test for travel.  Glad you verified both are okay (but still planning on getting rapid NAAT/PCR test).

Glad Carbon Health could squeeze your daughter's family in.  How many?  Didn't the ship sail on Sunday?

Yes, we tested Sunday early, then boarded late. Three were 4 in their group

We’ve had safe issues in both cabins on the ship. They must be going nuts getting these fixed.

I'm sure all of the batteries have died over the last 16 months, and they are replacing them as requested.  🙄

What would happen if you transfer $$$ (that you purchased as OBC under On Board Services) from your cruise account to a casino accounts.  Played some and let it sit in your account until the last night when you have to cash out your account.

You do not have a separate casino account, it all shows on your main folio.   If it is refundable obc or casino credits, which you can also buy in advance,   I imagine you can load it to your card and get the $$ back on the last night.    They just probably would lock your card so you could only do it once.   Never tried it.

What did the "old" one look like? Never been on a ship with the expanded Alfredo's menu.

A slice of apple tart. The minestrone is not like i make it (so thick a spoon will stand up), its more like vegetable soup

To clarify, masks are not required in the open air outdoors, correct?  I think all that is really expected is to follow local protocols.

Yes, we were told on our cruise that they would need to stay on at all times and that's what we did.  Pre-cruise we got the notice below as well.  Were you told something different for your cruise?

Elite are suppose to get 10% discount as refundable OBC on excursions.

Has anybody received the 10% discount?

I think the 10% would be deposited to your account after the excursion has been taken?

My 2022 excursion is on the last day - Victoria 7pm-11:59pm. If deposited after the excursion, how can you use if they close the accounts and off the ship the next morning?

I got it the day after I boarded. It comes back as refundable credit even though I bought the excursions with shareholder OBC

=================

@mina I have a separate casino bank which is loaded from my shipboard account. I log on. Transfer funds in. OBC are subtracted from my shipboard account and now sit in my casino bank. Cash out final day.

The problem may be only for those running a slot pull. In the past, I could zero out my casino bank. Reload it with players money. Run it. Cash out & disperse.

Reload my $s. Thats where the problem was. And it's new to me on this trip

Tagging 2 who are running future slot pulls: @CineGraphic and @Days @ C. Sort of :: have casino mgr delete block immediately so you can reload your personal funds

We received the 10% rebate on the first day on board for excursions booked or-cruise. We received the 10% rebate immediately for excursions booked on the ship.

Then you simply cash out - I suggest the night before the cruise ends rather than waiting for disembarkation day.

Especially since the casino is closed in port. The night before the casino makes lots of announcements to cash out before they close.

I’m kind of surprised by that photo from the CC Meet and Greet. I’ve not seen so many unmasked people on the ship since we’ve been on. People are wearing masks, and, if they aren’t, it appears to be because it just slipped their mind after eating or drinking and it’s around their chin. That’s easy to have happen, especially when I’ve gotten up to leave the dining room. I’ll get halfway to the doors and realize things feel kind of breezy.

In ports, people are wearing masks even when outside. Of course, there are a few exceptions there, too, but I haven’t witnessed a concerted effort on the part of anyone to NOT wear one.

It’s not fun, but it’s not hard either. We step into our cabin and strip ours off and throw them on the bed in about half a second. I feel for the crew, as I feel for anyone who has had to wear one for work or school since this began. But if someone is vehemently anti-mask, cruising in Alaska on a CCL ship this year probably isn’t their most compatible vacation.

We will be on the Sept. 5 sailing.  I would love to know if Miguel Rocha, the associate hotel general manager, will still be on the ship.  I have a picture of him and me on my desktop!

Yes, I believe so. He is a sweetie, isn’t it?  I was so happy to see him on board.

Absolutely!!  After the show, around 10 PM, we went to the casino on the last night to play a little.  They were already buttoned up tight and cashing out the remaining players that still had money on their accounts.  I couldn't believe they were closing it up so early.  We were like the last ones in line to cash out.

Did you select this night by night or with the option to book the same dining room every night at same time?

If selecting night by night (7 different requests for a 7 night cruise) I do not think that is considered a request for the same table and waitstaff.

I answered this but my computer went offline so not sure if my response went through or not.

Anyway, we originally reserved the same time for every night in the app.

They originally assigned us to half in the Concerto and half in the Symphony MDRs.  When we boarded, they changed all our dinners, except for one to the Allegro.  I was able to change it back to the other dining rooms because we just are not fans of the Allegro dining room.  Anyway, we had such good service by this one waiter in the Concerto, so changed my Symphony reservations back to the Concerto.  It's all so easy to do in the app.  We mentioned to the hostess that we loved our waiter and ended up getting one of his tables every night.  I think our timing must have been just right because his tables were filled shortly after we sat down.

Another passenger we knew from previous sailings requested the same table with the same waiters every night and she was able to get that.  I think she arranged it prior to the cruise.  I'm thinking that possibly, they assign the Allegro as the more traditional dining experience as it seems like maybe that is where people that chose the same dining time option on the app are assigned.  I don't know ... maybe that is just anecdotal.

How did you get the same wait staff? Jerry booked the week for all 6 if us @ 6:40 pm but its been a different table every night so far. All great but definitely not how you got it. What are we doing wrong?

We just asked at the front desk once we found a waiter that we loved.  It wasn't the same table but we were able to get the same waiter.  I think the 6:20 PM time might be key and it probably helped that we were a party of two and were consistently seated where 4 tables for two were along the bench.  Tables for two are much easier to turn over within 1 1/2 hours.

We got a 10% discount but we did have to go to the excursions desk to request it.  It was credited to my account prior to the excursion. It was a very pricey excursion so the discount was sizable.  I'm sure it is supposed to be automated but don't think they've gotten that far yet.  I didn't get it on my photos or on my spa treatment.  I didn't even bother trying to get it back for those.  The photos just weren't worth getting it done and the spa treatment ... I guess I was just feeling generous and very relaxed.  haha!
