Good morning friends!  Today is 56F and we are moving to partly cloudy skies with a high of 77.  Thanks Rich @richwmn for the Fleet and Daily for Thursday.

Interesting days of celebration.  I would go to an art museum if there was one here.  World Freedom Day has to do with the fall of communism in Eastern Europe and rise in democracy thanks to the fall of the Berlin Wall.  And cheers to Carl Sagan Day.  He was quite the scientist!  The quote is sad but true.  Not another butternut squash dish!  Sorry Debbie!  I will take a look at the recipes to see if I can change my mind.  Oh my on the red velvet cake martini!  I can just imagine what Paul @kochleffel thinks about this one.  I would gladly taste the Sauvignon Blanc.  Thanks Debbie @dfish, Dixie @summer slope, and Ann @cat shepard for your reports today.

Prayers offered this morning as I walk that treadmill.  Hoping all on our care list will see improved health and lower pain levels.  I especially mentioned DB and close friends in need of help. Looking for world peace and a better life for those currently at war, with a return of hostages taken from Israel.  Hurray for those on the Celebration list and those at sea.  If you're not there yet, you still have something to look forward to and I hope your travels go smoothly.  Thanks to Vanessa @JazzyV for her hard work making her lists and checking them twice!

The port today is Palermo, Italy which was our destination once before on March 27, 2022.  We stopped there on a December transatlantic on Pacific Princess in 2018.  Here's the link for your convenience in retrieving your photos from that date.

I am heading out this morning for my hair appointment.  Found out yesterday my twin is going to her hair appointment today too.  Always fun to see when our lives move in the same direction at the same time, though we live 600 miles apart!   Hoping you all have a great day, with safe travels and please stay well!  Photos coming up.

On December 7, 2018 the Pacific Princess stopped in Palermo on our way from Venice to Ft. Lauderdale00-krGnVk_TmW1vjXOSXmrbNCgtIzRKIF36hrdhGheqtVJrYACWBZGuvY0IbkKdQV85?cn=THISLIFE&res=medium&ts=1546391408

Having never been there before we decided to take a very long walk to see as much as we could see that day.  We ended up walking about 5 miles.  Way off on a far mountain was this huge building.  We definitely didn't want to walk all the way over there!00-krGnVk_TmW1vjXOSXmrbNCgtIzRKIF36hrdhGheqtVJkObwtg1pAnu9eTO9BaVTx?cn=THISLIFE&res=medium&ts=1546387395

Some streets were so congested with scooters it would be impossible to use them for any other purpose.00-krGnVk_TmW1vjXOSXmrbNCgtIzRKIF36hrdhGheqtVIb-n4sdACdIoPknUkdRmL6?cn=THISLIFE&res=medium&ts=1546391415

We saw the Teatro Massimo, the opera house, with masses of poinsettias on the staircase.  Beautiful!00-krGnVk_TmW1vjXOSXmrbNCgtIzRKIF36hrdhGheqtVL4L0yc5tAG3XcDVvtM0m_Y?cn=THISLIFE&res=medium&ts=1546391422

We went to an intersection called Quattro Canti and on each corner was one of these buildings with a fountain at the base of them.  00-krGnVk_TmW1vjXOSXmrbNCgtIzRKIF36hrdhGheqtVKTP1SsJNySI3sPKnbWbXPv?cn=THISLIFE&res=medium&ts=1546391457

Thank you Rich, Vanessa, Debbie, Ann, and Dixie.  If I go to an art museum today it will be of the botanical art variety.  Carl Sagan and World Freedom are certainly to be celebrated.  I think I like the Ellis quote.

I have not been to Polermo.  I have no idea what the menu suggestion is.  My alternative is Chilled Mango Gazpacho, Chateaubriand, and Carrot Cake A la Mode as served on MS Prinsendam :

Good morning and thank you for the Report.

The freezing rain wasn't too bad yesterday and the power stayed on.  We've got showers in the forecast for today and it's quite windy.  The sun will be up soon so Bertie and I can go for a walk.

I wish there was an Art Museum nearby for me to visit, I would enjoy it.  World Freedom Day is a day to celebrate.  I wish the sky was clear and I could look for stars and celebrate the work of Carl Sagan.

The quote is too true.

I'll pass on the meal, not sure about the drink but I'm sure I'll like the wine.

Thanks in advance for pictures of today's port.

Prayers for everyone on the Care List.   Cheers for all the celebrations.

Have a wonderful day.

Good early morning to all and thanks for the daily and fleet reports.  Haven't been to an art museum in a long time but I do enjoy them.  Yay for Carl Sagan!!  But lastly, I wish the world freedom from whatever oppression that plagues them.  Too deep a quote for this early in the morning.  I will be interested in the recipes, probably pass on the drink, definitely pass on the wine (white), and never been to Palermo.  Today in 1998 was a financial victory for us little people.

We are heading into some cool weather; presently it is 47F and only heading up to mid 70s.  It will be like that for the next couple of days.

Last subbing day for this week.  Back to the same class as yesterday.  Gym this morning but I have to take it easy.  Received my check-in time so it is starting to get a little more real that I will finally get to Hawaii!

Thoughts for the world I think is appropriate for today and also for all of those on the care list.  Cheers for those celebrating.

Have a great day everyone!

At a bare minimum, you have "The High" (https://high.org) but I believe there are a couple of others in the Atlanta Area

Thank you for today’s FR & D, Rich! Another lovely start to the day. These are the days that spoil me.

Vanessa, I may sound like a broken record, but I pray that you find relief to your pain, soon. Thank you for keeping up with all of us.

Zumba, Bindi walks, chores, maybe washing my car. Sadly the darker color shows dust and pollen much more than my silver Prius did.

May we each find a reason to smile today.

Hans Greyl Sauvignon Blanc 2022

I used the 2022 vintage info of this New Zealand SB, since it seems the easiest to find. I could not find a critic’s review, but the 45,000+ consumers who gave it an average 4.2/5 can not be wrong. Widely available with online prices starting at

$11.99.

Distributor notes

Pronounced aromas of gooseberry, citrus, and florals. Dry and medium bodied with bright acidity, the palate shows gooseberry, citrus, white peach, mango, passionfruit, and a nice minerality. Crisp and refreshing, this would be great with cheeses, light seafood, and veg!

So many people in the world can’t celebrate Freedom Day, prayers for them all. Suffering and death may be part of life but so are Joy and Living!  The Daily Family shares it all, every day!  Thanks for being here.

Another beautiful day in Maryland, it’s not quite as nice where we’re headed to in northern NJ today but I’m sure we’ll get used to the new environment. I woke up at 5am with too many thoughts!  But in a week we’ll be there!  Yikes!

This morning I have an eye doctor appointment with DH’s glaucoma specialist (she sees me because of so many of my family members with glaucoma)  and she wrote via portal message that she’d see DH too one last time before we move next week. 🤞

Yesterday went well with the prep walkthrough before packers come Monday. Now getting a plan for the tasks of our last few days. We decided to pre-pack the car this weekend to see if everything we plan to take ourselves will fit!  Of course we’ll have to unpack it because much of it will be needed to camp out here the night after the movers, and then camp out in the new place before the movers unload. It’ll all happen!  Onward!

Blessings to all the Dailyites, and all in need of healing, hugs or hope!  Smooth travels to all away!

Good Thursday morning. Thank you for the Daily and Fleet reports.

Cloudy and a bit chilly today. Fall is coming back. My plan this weekend is to begin my holiday cleaning of the house as this will be visiting season. I am hoping to take some long breaks from work to enjoy the holidays.

Working from home today. Fancy will be by my side as she loves cuddling.

Thinking of all on the care list.

Celebrating with all who are celebrating.

Have a safe and healthy day.

Good morning to all the Dailyites.

Happy Thursday.

Thank you to Rich for the Daily and Fleet Report.

Nice Quote.  Nice Days to Celebrate. However, don’t have an Art Museum near me. Freedom is precious and we can never take it for granted.

I don’t know about the drink.  I will consider the wine and the meal after I see the recipes that Debbie shows us.

The destination of the day is one very close to my heart.  It is part of my heritage.  My grandmother was born in a small town close to Palermo.

i was in Palermo back in 1984 with my mom.  However, I had such a bad cold, I spent most of the time in bed in the hotel.  We did go to the town where my grandmother was born, but it was pouring rain.  I have been trying to get back to Palermo and it has not happened.  We had a cruise booked in Oct. 2020 that stopped there and then did a transatlantic.  Then Covid happened and that was the end of that.  We now have a cruise planned in Oct. 2024 that stops there.  I have no idea if we will actually be taking that cruise with the way our lives are going.  @StLouisCruisers Sandi, thank you for the photos.  I really enjoyed them.

Prayers for those on the cares list.  Today we are going to the bank to finally take care of DBIL’s estate.  We just hope that we don’t run into any glitches.

Cheers to those who are celebrating and cruising.

@rafinmd Roy.  BON VOYAGE!

@JazzyV Hope you are feeling better today.

I hope everyone has a wonderful day.

God Bless,

Terri

Good morning everyone.  Thanks for the daily report, recipes and lists.  It’s a chilly, rainy morning here perfect day to visit the MFA.  Here’s to world freedom and Carl Sagan.  While the quote is true why do some have to experience an inordinate amount?  I haven’t been to today’s port but @StLouisCruisers’s photos of it are very nice as always.  Think I’ll pass on the meal and drink suggestions today.  Prayers for everyone on our prayer list.  Cheers to those of you celebrating happy events!

Good morning everyone.  Thanks for the Daily and Cares Reports.   I have to be very brief but just have to make a comment on the cocktail, a drink with cake mix crikey!    We have friends from out of town for an early dinner so I have to get to work cleaning and food prep.   My tooth extraction went well yesterday really no pain after the tooth was out.   I have to be careful to leave the clot in place and of course the place John chose for lunch had no soup or hot turkey sandwich so I settled for tater tots.   Have a lovely Thursday!

Bon Voyage @Heartgrove🍾

Thanks for our Thursday Daily, Rich.

& thanks to Ann, Vanessa, Debbie & Dixie.

Great collection of days!  No significant art museum here so I will save that day for cruising days full of history and art 👍. Freedom is something we should all be grateful for.  I wish everyone in the world could enjoy it 😔

I guess that quote is relatively true, but it seems depressing to me.  Too many people are in pain 😔

IMG_1660.thumb.jpeg.f772fb45659f5664b22a4a3b52e533a2.jpeg

That white wine sounds good to me @cat shepard - it could go with anything for me 😉

Well nothing happened outside yesterday except for Ivan’s walks.  Brrrr.  It ended up below 0 (too soon for this) and it was c-c-c-cold.  I was wearing my winter coat 😱 along with my snood and gloves and still felt that bitter wind.  I sure hope the weather is kinder today but it doesn’t sound good with the threat of snow showers this afternoon 😢

IMG_1658.jpeg.6011b12d6f23e43c653dd8a7fbc97fc5.jpeg

The weather doesn’t bother Ivan though and his hair is growing all too quickly.  thank heavens he is getting groomed next week.  Pretty soon he won’t be able to see 😂

IMG_2528.thumb.jpeg.ebf91906f5bfe2ecc288b0ea7ab40602.jpeg

He’ll have enough to keep him warm, never fear.  His shaving days ended after the 1st grooming with  his fur back in good shape 😉

More cleaning and sorting today unless I can work outside.  And a trip to the Royal Canadian Legion when they open to buy one of their lawn signs and a couple of other things.

IMG_1178.thumb.jpeg.0bd2dcdc510170e0549159350c4c7b98.jpeg

Prayers for those on the Care list, those suffering losses, heath issues, pain, worries & those that need them 🙏. Cheers to those celebrating and cruising 🥂

Good morning, thanks for the Fleet Report and Daily!  We have a great art museum in our city that has some fabulous works installed.  One of our city's philanthropists decided it was unfair that people couldn't afford to go in on a regular basis, so contributed such a substantial amount that for the next 25 years there will be no admission charge - wasn't that a wonderful gift?  Hoping for freedom for all.  Yay for "billions and billions", Carl Sagan - if only he could have seen what the James Webb telescope has shown us!

We had a dusting of snow overnight, just enough to see on the lawn; both the driveway and street are clear.  The weather people keep toying with us - yesterday they told us that Sunday we could expect a high of +9(48F), and as I look at the forecast this morning, it's down to +6.  Hopefully there won't be any wind, as I'd really like to get the Christmas lights strung along the front of the house.

This morning we have to head over to the Device Clinic at the hospital so DH can have his pacemaker follow-up.  The incision has healed well, he's feeling good and has good colour again, so hopefully they'll just give him an A+ and we'll be on our way.

@HeartgroveBon Voyage; enjoy your cruise!!

@JazzyVwishing you pain-free days!

I do like sweet drinks, but am not sure about this one - the addition of cake mix makes it a little slurpy.  I'll pass on the wine, and will skip over the menu suggestion, but will make a small batch of porcupines (a respite from the turkey), mashed potatoes and green beans that we'll enjoy at the kitchen table tonight.  And wine.

Prayers for everyone who is in need, in wars, and grieving.  Cheers to all with celebrations.

Smooth Sailing!  ☺️☺️☺️

Gerry
