Daily internet prices to increase!

On another thread, the full set of prices was posted (off thread topic), so copying here with some editing.  PCL has increased the single day pricing as well.  Not surprising as they overlooked these in the last price increase and the single day cost was out of line with other pricing.  Also - as stated earlier - the new scheme returns the 4-device package to cost less than 2X 1-device, so that should be the choice for couples who book Standard as you get double the device connections while saving money.

One Device (full voyage)  =  $25/day  (up from $15)
Four Devices (full voyage) = $45/day (up from $40)

One Device (single day) = $30 (up from $20 - which had not changed at all last time)
Four Devices (single day) = $55 (up from $40 - which probably had not changed at all last time and I was not aware of this offering before)

All these drip drip drips of changes are quite annoying. We cruised with new cruisers last February and now are going again with them for their second cruise. I hate having to say this has changed and that has changed, while trying to help them understand why Princess is our favorite line.

Thank you to the original OP for this information.

I was able to purchase internet at the rate of $7.50 per day (platinum level) for our June 2025 22 day Alaska cruise and went ahead and prepaid daily tips in case they also go up.

Was not able to purchase internet for our 54 day South Pacific cruise in March 2026.  App says “No Plans Available to Purchase”. Maybe its just too far out date wise.

I have my 2026 cruises blocked

from booking internet.  It WAS open, they just closed it, probably due to the new increase.

Last night I was able to purchase internet for upcoming cruises through late September 2025. I had a little trouble getting it to work with my credit card for a couple of the cruises,  but somehow it finally worked for three upcoming cruises. So we are all set now and have locked in at the current elite discount rate before the price increase next week.

Sort of glad now that I’ve already booked the Princess Premiere package - as a single-user and for 16-nights, along with whatever other benefits (and future increases come along between now and then 😉), it may have been a better deal than I first imagined.

Glad you were able to pay for Internet on the Alaska trip. I’ll see you on the ship!

How much do you want to bet that plans for your 2026 cruise will suddenly be “available” once the price goes up?!

That needs to be done through the Princess app. FYI, I have never been able to figure out how two book to individual packages; it's either a single device or four devices and we only need two.  I book one for me then sign into my wife's Medallion account and book one for her.  Works just fine.

Isn’t it less expensive to buy one four device plan than two one device plans?

I booked one wifi device on my app.

cabin mate booked one device in their app.

took screenshot of each.  No receipt given.

It does show in your Cruise Summary/Onboard Reservatios.  Here is a screen shot of a booking I have for 2025...

For two devices no.   We found a discounted 4 device plan to be less expensive than three single device plans.  Not sure with the new pricing.

Has this been officially confirmed? I see comments that it was sent to travel agents but not yet publicly announced, but are there any travel agents that can actually confirm? Thanks.

I'm a TA and can confirm that it was sent out in a TA newsletter!

I just don't understand why all the fuss about internet.  Certainly no one likes to see these kind of price increases.  But for those of us that have cruised for many years, we certainly got by before all the smart phones and tablets proliferated our society.  Yes, as elite we had "x" number of minutes to use in the internet cafe.  I used it to check e-mails and that was about it.  On our last cruise we did not have an internet package and survived with no problem.  We did connect to free wi-fi in several ports but didn't feel that we missed out on anything.  I guess it's just a case of "to each his own."

And thus your question is answered. 🙂

(I don't understand all the fuss about drink packages, or staring at the screen of a slot machine. But I don't go into drink package or casino threads just to mention it.)

Agreed! They should do them once a year. Trickling them out like this makes it seem like they don't have their act together and are just trying things.

This is one reason why we are keeping our Plus package. Our cruise is in a year and I'm sure Plus will go up in price before then and if there is anything added to it, most likely it will be something we don't care about as pretty much everything we care about is already there.

P.S. I mentioned before that IMO the percentage it went up isn't important; it's whether or not you think it's worth it for the new price. What I didn't say (because I wanted to noodle on it a bit), is that I don't think wifi is worth $25 a day.

The old price was more in line with what hotels charge and the new price is what hotels that have a lower level and a premium offering charge for the premium offering. But we never pay for premium wifi in a hotel (and we try to stay in hotels that have free wifi or where we belong to the loyalty program that gives us free wifi).

Not today. But it will be with the new prices.

That's the only thing that makes me sad. Premier makes no sense for us but having a 4-device plan for one of us would be much nicer than two 1-device plans. But not enough nicer to pay for it when 1-device is included in Plus.

I work remotely, I need access to wifi to keep earning $$$ as I lounge on a ship 😀

No.

A single device plan will be $25 a day, so two plans would be $50 a day. (Without the 50% Elite discount)

A four device plan will be $45 a day. (Without the 50% Elite discount.

Am I misunderstanding?

P.S.  I get it.  My numbers are after the price increase is implemented.  Two singles are currently less expensive.

Grateful that I saw this discussion. I just went on my app and purchased in advance with our Elite discount for our upcoming summer cruise. I feel like Princess is trying to bully those of us who opt out of the packages - at some point we will just give in and decide it is the most affordable option. Maybe instead you will just bully me over to another line once my Elite benefits aren't as attractive as they once were. Already looking at some Celebrity and NCL cruise options this year. They have some nice casino offers as well.

Quick question,

If one buys the WIFI package now, and then decides to upgrade to Plus or Premium onboard, will they give you a credit or OBC for what you previously paid?

In theory...you *should* be able to cancel that previous purchase yourself (online) and get refunded back to your CC.

Up until 72 hours prior to cruise.

With the original pricing - yes.

With the current pricing - no.

With the new increases - yes.
