I also do not expect to be treated any better than a first time cruiser..

The day we get treated as a first time cruiser on Celebrity,  I will book another cruise line as a first time cruiser who will be treated as well as someone who has cruised 200 times on that line...just saying loyalty goes both ways.

However your philosophy is taking hold and we are looking elsewhere.. "The future just ain't what it used to be.. "

Real chairs, yes!

Glad to see REAL chairs - I was worried after seeing the wee ones on the EDGE photos - potential reaction to customer feedback? (i.e., they are listening and responding in a favourable manner)

I sincerely hope so! And that cabin is not even a suite. 😉

I'm keeping my fingers crossed that those types of chairs will make their way onto the Sky suite verandahs on the Edge this April in time for the TA. 😎

Looks like the tiny Edge-like tables on the balconies, though the chairs look like they may recline? 🙂

Are these the same chairs that were on the S class ships? I recall they did recline like that.... I was guessing that the deck furniture stayed the same, no?

This doesn't look like Millennium to me...I don't recall the glass partition above the booth (where did the booth seating go?) or any big yellow chairs in that location...and the grand piano is missing. I don't recall that sculpture either... The chairs have arms...and the carpet is different, or not. I feel like I'm playing the differences in the two pictures puzzle.

I agree that Bacio doesn't look like it was renovated at all though.

I pulled it off of cruisedeckplans.com. The image was placed in the area of Cafe al Bacio n the deckplan. I think it might be an image of what was there before Al Bacio was added which I believe was a card room. What is interesting is that the carpet is still the same from even prior to the Solsticization.

I thought there was plenty of shade on the YC pool deck.  I was on the Seaside.  Spent most of my time in the shade.

We had to move chair locations many times depending on where the sun was. There were only a handful of chairs under the pergolas on the side where they had the covered dining tables. I'm not sure if they may have removed some of the tables in favor of chairs.

The YC manager was hopeful last year that they might retrofit some additional shade at some point ....

Umm, Celebrity has an interesting definition of Loyalty.  We've sailed four times on X, a total of 40+ days.  We get nothing except a free gelato.  Why?  Because we book interior and OV cabins.  That never feels quite right to me.  But as long as X keeps including the alcohol package and gratuities, we can't beat the prices.

Has there been a post showing the bathrooms of a regular veranda cabin and an Aqua class cabin? The Aqua’s used to have an upgraded bathroom (particularly the shower) and I’m curious if there is still a big difference. We are looking at taking the Connie in the Med next year and would like to know.

So - it appears Cafe al Bacio, the Martini Bar, Cellar Masters and Tuscan Grille all remain unchanged.  I wonder if any changes were made to Sushi on 5 (which needed to be changed to a new concept IMHO) and QSine?  Also it appears the Theater may be largely unchanged.

This is both good and bad as it can create a design incongruity to the entire ship, but at the same time areas like Cafe al Bacio and the Martini bar largely were successful just as they were.

I think the outdoor chairs/tables on the verandah rooms remain somewhat unchanged - the standard verandah rooms have always had the small side tables on the M class ships.  The Concierge and Aqua rooms had dining height tables on some M Class ships/rooms but not all.  Not sure if the headrests are new, but a nice touch.

I find some of the new decor quite successful, other areas not so much - the Casino looks truly bland and uninviting.  However Rendevous and the Oceanview Cafe look amazing ......

In this photo Sunset/Oceanview Bar does not appear open yet for business.   We are on Summit first sailing after drydock, and have 3 of these aft cabins (1141, 1138,1130), so praying the bar will be open, as one of the reasons we chose these cabins.

Can anyone on Millennium confirm the bar is open/closed.   Thanks for any info.

We have 1138 booked for two weeks on the Summit in November so if you're able to post some pictures, I would really appreciate it.  I'm disappointed that they removed the awning over the Sunset Bar mostly because it was my favorite place to eat if we could sit in the shade but also it seems to decrease the amount of privacy on the verandas on deck 11.

I just picked up a copy at future sales on reflection.

I will attempt to scan them.

The new OV poertside cabins in the former Wine Cellar appear to be much smaller, perhaps by the width of the new hallway..

Thank you, Arno!!  I did see some photos on the Millennium area of Celebrity's website.  I'm interested in what might've been done to the Butler's Pantry on M-class ships.  I loved the full-sized refrigerator/freezer, microwave oven, and second entry/exit.

I know that those pianos are going away; I don't object to that.

I hope you're doing okay.  Haven't seen you since I met you in 2010.   Those past 9 years have rocked my world, for sure....

I know! I don't remember that glassed in area either. But I've been wrong on the toiletries topic so I didn't want to say anything. The last time I was on the Millie was 2015.

If I am recalling correctly this picture  is before the millennium made the changes like the S class ships. The are behind the glass used to be the game room.

I am happy that they left the classic M-Class bench seating and glass tables in the theater.  Maybe it is just my preference but I really like these old seats!

Thank you Miaminice- that is exactly what I meant- a statement not a complain. They should and must make profit.. , we all know what the outcome would be otherwise!

I am  glad they kept the old fashined ( well they are from the 2000´s ) chairs in Al Baccio- I loved them when the coffee place was still called Cova Cafe Milano. Exactly the same chairs! The carpet might have been replaced- they have nicer ones - but- they can do only so much during 5 weeks!

The former card room was included in Al Baccio when they changed Cova to Al Baccio- when the Milli Class got Solsticeized!

What I do absolutley not like is the new look of the aft bar - those old teak chairs will be missed- well at least by me! LOL!

I liked Century.

Century was our first cruise; my wife and I were in our mid twenties and fell in love with cruising X.  We sailed in the Century Suite (aft) and even remember our butler, Zenubio.  Such a great memory!

OMG!!  I remember Zenubio!!!!  I don't remember the ship:   Galaxy or Zenith.  I know it wasn't Century, because I only started sailing in suites after my 2 cruises on Century.

Thanks for the memory....

Well said, Arno.  That's why we've been loyal to Celebrity for the last 20 years and doing 7 more cruises on Celebrity last year.  And that's why we've so interested in trying to find out what they did to the Millennium.  We were quite disappointed with our experience on the Edge in December and hope Celebrity hasn't spoiled the Millennium for us now.

I agree they have done an incredible "Revolution" of Millennium. 4 to 5 weeks in dry dock does not make a new ship. It does not make sense or $ to replace all furniture, fittings and fixtures, if it just needs a detail clean or soft refurb. Look forward to my cruise later in the year from Shanghai. Thanks to those who have shared pics.

Obviously it is a personal preference.

I think the carpets look very classy and I like them.

I wear progressive lense eyeglases.  Stairs are difficult to negotiate but I try to avoid  steep ones

.Carpet like that is not so easy  for walking .. so many diff dark patterns,. I am .hoping the actual carpets are more subdued than they appear..One of them looked like an Escher print!
