Royal Caribbean Cruisers -- How Are Things Where You Are? (was "Routine" 😁 day in lockdown... how was yours?)

Recommended Posts

We have been busy getting re-acclimated to east coast time, after returning from California, and we are starting to feel normal today.  It is so much harder going west to east than going the other direction.

Our daughter, and her family are at Universal this week, so we are watching Ricky.  Granddaughter is excited, because they are swimming with dolphins at discovery cove this morning.  If you can believe a 2nd grader’s career path, she wants to be a dolphin trainer.  One of our planned activities with our California grandson, is to take him to Universal for a week in August.

Ricky was happy to meet his new cousin this week.

Last night, we were out to a concert with a tribute band that couldn’t decide if they wanted to be Led Zeppelin or Aerosmith, so they were both.  They weren’t bad, and we loaded up on unhealthy festival food.

I hope they gave you bottled water to drink. The natural water is full of sulphur and stinks. More apt to age you than to keep you young!

oof straight sulphur!

I drank the sulphur water out of that Fountain of Youth in St. Augustine many years ago in my 20s, and I'm very disappointed to say that it DID NOT work. 😠

@grapau27 Graham-Thank you for the anniversary greeting! You always find very happy celebratory greetings to post here!

@Arzeena I am hoping that you enjoy the cruise on the Summit.

Maybe it was a good thing that you rebooked the cruise for another date.

There had been a Noro outbreak on the ship before we got on the ship. People were served by staff in the buffet-which I think is a good idea.

Also, there were staff to remind folks to Washy, washy at the entrances of the buffet. Thank you for good wishes.

@DaniDanielle A 😊 attitude helps! Thank you for the kind words!

@jmh2006 I did rent clubs at Turtle Hill Golf Course and it was a very good set.

The lack of concern and effort to help us did not reflect the Bermudian welcoming attitude we have so often encountered in our many past visits to Bermuda.

Because of this, I would not recommend the course, but YMMV.

In retrospect, I think we would have done better at the pitch and putt mini golf at the Dockyard-oh well !

@Sunshine3601Thank you for the kind words.

@sgmnThank you for the kind words.

Lovely photos of your trips to the Med. I visited Sicily with friends during college. I I have many good memories of that trip!

It does not look as it has changed much over the years.

@lenquixote66Thank you for the good wishes.

I am hoping that your poem is selected.

@BonTexasNYA positive attitude helps!

We made a lot of lemonade that vacation 😉!

@Luckynana Thank you for your reply. It seems that Covid is an unwanted souvenir from a vacation.

Good that you recovered from your bout and I am getting a bit better each day. Dr said ride it out with fluids and rest-so that’s it!

I do appreciate all the responses and reactions to my post.

There are kind, good people in this world!

I hope I didn’t neglect any posters who sent us good thoughts. This thread moves so quickly, it is difficult to keep up at times.
Wishing all the posters and readers here a pleasant day!

@QueSeraSera A word to the wise about your wife’s birthday coming from

a wife of 40 years…..

I would suggest a bouquet of flowers and a dinner at a special restaurant to celebrate her day.

Remember this saying-Happy wife, happy life!

Well said MJ.

We were back to the hotel and in bed by 10:45 that night 🤣

We woke at 8am Saturday with fun plans for the day. We were checking out of the Hilton and into Casa Monica which is a Marriott property. They provide complimentary passes to a local beach club.

We have stayed at Casa Mmonica and used their beach club. They shuttled us there. Was a lot of fun. Their breakfast at Costa Brava was great. Your pictures brought back good memories.🙂

Casa Monica is a wonderful choice! I paid hopefully my last ever speeding ticket there when it was used for city offices.
such a waste that was of a beautiful building.

This describes my marriage perfectly...both figuratively and literally.  "Do these pants go with this shirt?"

Dick thinks everything that isn’t red is blue.
Thank goodness he finally checks with me before going out the door.

Good afternoon.

To summarize my casino experience.

I gambled enough over 6 days to earn a grand Suite on a selection of ships and dates through the casino

So I went to our TA  and she booked.

Symphony of the Seas 8 days next April.

The free cruise does not include tax or port fees

Before we left the ship we turned in our paperwork to guarantee us the $2000 in casino credit, and our credit card was charged $200.
We also got some on board credit. It’s either $200- or -$300.

So after all is said and done I had to pay

$27 total for me and my husband.

And I did come home with $$$

Be safe.

For me there's two colors...blue and everything else.  Unfortunately, I've been told that not all shades of blue go together.  So yes...I check with Micheline before going out the door.

We had a lighteningpalooza on Monday and our neighborhood was without power from 8:30 to midnight.  My husband said he would hook up the generator in the morning if the power didn't come back.  The only sad part is we were watching Crime Scene Kitchen and I still don't know if it was a pavlova or a dacquoise.  I had it set up to record but it only recorded 34 minutes.  I will have to wait until it shows up on demand.

We had another lighteningpalooza last night.  This time it was only our house that lost power.  The power company showed up around midnight and replaced our transformer.  The sad part this time is my garage door opener is a goner.  My husband said he will replace it when we get back.

I will have to point out the number of the power company on our frig for the house sitter.  It even lights up in the dark.  LOL
