That’s great news @singinalot!  Very similar goings on back here in the Northeast.  My Dad passed away Feb 2020.  I put his house on the market (technically my house as he had put it in my name back in 2002) in November 2020. Second person who looked at it made an offer 10k over asking.  We signed papers on it Dec 30th.  Now just sweating the capital gains taxes 😬.
Hope the rest of the process goes as easy for you!

MMM. Yes. Same thing here. Only child, joint tenancy with my mom. Took over both houses......and looking at significant capital gains taxes, and trying to avoid them as much as possible. :classic_biggrin::classic_biggrin::classic_biggrin::classic_biggrin:

I’m an espresso drinker and had been using a Nespresso machine. We recently switched to a Gaggia Babila machine. Makes outstanding espresso AND coffee for my wife. Whole fresh coffee beans really do make a difference.

I love espresso but dont make it, only treats I buy it ready made. Covid hasnt been kind to me.

Do you like Cuban coffee? It's very strong too.

Wonderful food porn, especially that Italian spread AND rib eye, AND club sandwich, AND birthday filets AND anything else I forgot to mention.

Singinalot, great news on that house offer.   I love to see photos of places I've never been to. Thank you for posting them.

Why do people place an @ before quoting a name?

It tags the person.  The person tagged gets a message by e mail if they have alerts set up.

I personally find it easier to purchase a new refrigerator instead of cleaning the old one. Just sayin. 😁

Just like with any old stuff, in the end it always turns out cheaper to buy a new one than waste time and money on fixing the old one

Welcome to the group.  It is mandatory that you clean or fridge or freezer if you wish to join.

Just kidding, this is how @dani negreanu started this thread and I think we have all done it at least once in the last year.

And now that we are about a year in, it is time to clean them again or your group membership is lost. I have to do the freezer this week as I am planning a run to the meat packers.

Our offering for tonight. Club sandwich, tater tots and pickles. Again I could only eat half.

I know there's a huge debate on the correct items for a club. I only use 2 slices of bread, and use deli ham, turkey and20210307_193242.thumb.jpg.1b2ca13c7ae7ab72b7219ac3232782b0.jpg bacon. Pile on the lettuce and tomatoes. No cheese.

I need cheese on my club sandwich.  Otherwise, perfect.  Not a fan of the 3rd piece of bread in the middle as it can make the sandwich too tall to easily fit in my mouth.  I don't want eating my food to be a challenge.  And it looks like we are both tots lovers.

I try to make as many memories as I can with her. I grew up having “happy trips”/ our name for road trips and they have formed so many memories for me.

tonight I’m reminded of how precious life is https://instagram.com/seanandstef?igshid=x7axpl7cagwo and I cherish every minute we spent together yesterday

Cancer is a nasty, evil, bastard that impacts many people.  Those happy memories are very important.

When my daughters were young, we did what we called triple F...forced family fun.  It was usually little things.  Whatever it was, they WERE going to join us and they WERE going to have fun.  It became a running joke.  They now say that they really enjoyed FFF and it is some of their best memories.

Same here about the freezer ... have to stock up on bread, beigels, pretzels, breadcrumbs and related bread products in "anticipation" of Passover.... there is a limit to the quantity of "matzos" a person can eat 😉

Actually, it reminds me of a story.  About 4 years ago we were in Ireland for a family wedding.  We did a road down, around and up the west coast.  After the wedding in Enniscrone (north west) we were going to visit Downpatrick Head on the way back down to Galway.  If you are not familiar with the name, It was along the lines of the Cliffs of Moher without the tourists.  So, after spending at least 30 minutes trying to find the place (google wasn't much help here) we found it.  Unfortunately it had begun to rain and the wind was gale force.  There was one other car in the lot and those people were staying put.  DH and I unbuckled the seat belts and he turned to the girls and said "Aren't you coming" to which the girls said "no way, we're not going out in the rain are you?"  DH looked and them and said "You think I just drove all this way not to go out and look".  It was crazy, we made our way up and unlike the tourist trap there is little there but a small path that ends and you are then free to wander through the massive field occupied by hundreds of sheep.  So, there I am trying to take pictures of the depth of the cliffs hoping I don't step in sheep sh*t and slip off the cliff.  The video the girls took from the warmth of the car was hilarious.  Just need to find it.  It was definitely something to laugh about.

We have a new fridge coming today! The old one was 30 years old, and came with the house. I didn’t dare take apart the crispers for cleaning, because they looked brittle, and it was leaking.

Eventually, the kitchen will have work done to it, but we’re not sure how extensive. We like the granite countertops, but unfortunately the floor is the original sheet vinyl, complete with “dirt dimples”. I have tried to get it clean, but failed. We may just tile around the cabinets. The cabinets are good quality, but dated, and in some cases, a bit worn. Probably we will re-stain or paint.

If anyone has ideas, we will welcome them!

This is the way that our kitchen remodel started in our house in Ohio.  Replace the cheap, builder grade flooring that was looking worn.  Since we had a pool with kids running in/out with wet feet, we decided to put down tile.  We extended the tile into the family room where the door to the pool was located.  We also extended the tile into the front foyer.  We then decided that, while we were at it, we would replace the Formica countertops with granite.  But that wouldn't look good on our now dated golden oak cabinets.  We considered painting the cabinets but didn't like the overall layout and wanted a larger island with a second sink.  Long story short, the entire first floor on the back of our house was demo'd down to the drywall.

Good luck controlling "scope creep". 😁

Thanks for putting up with my adventure posts!

You got some nice, snow covered shots with your drone.  Your making me feel guilty as my drone has been sitting in a closet for a couple of months now.  I need to get out and fly.  Did you notice any difference in battery life in the cold?  What does the mini2 add that's not in your original mini?

Love the pictures singinalot, and also the food porn, Bob.

Today I was finally able to get on CC, kept getting booted off and a notice came up to try later.

So went shopping and had no trouble getting on now.

Wonder if anyone else noticed what was going on with CC.

Stay healthly
