Royal Caribbean Cruisers -- How Are Things Where You Are? (was "Routine" 😁 day in lockdown... how was yours?)

Recommended Posts

New kid in the block here.  Just introduced myself over on the Bella thread as well. I’ve been following along here for many months & decided to finally join the party.  DH & I live in the Ocean State, RI.  Have 3 grown daughters and 5 grandchildren.  I also follow the vaccine threads here as some of the others, purely for entertainment value. They’re often like the proverbial train wreck that you can’t look away from.  I much prefer the vibe here & Bella’s!
Our lockdown has consisted of grocery pickups with quick in store visits only when necessary, walks when weather permits,  trips to the beach last summer, takeout meals only, and a ton of home improvement projects.  We are both retired & DH is a big DIY-er.  We were able to get an in ground pool installed at the end of last summer so we now spend a lot of time planning the completion (pavers, fencing, lighting, landscaping). I received my 1st Pfizer shot last week (63), DH is waiting to be contacted (57).
Our last cruise was June 2019, Anthem 9 night Bermuda & Eastern Caribbean out of Bayonne NJ to celebrate DH retirement.  It was one of our best! Photo from our favorite spot-Boleros.

Me too...though with my regular drip coffee maker.  I am still old fashioned and love grinding my own beans I special order every morning, and using the old style drip maker.  😉

Welcome to the best thread on cruise critic.

Bella's thread is number 2 so you have picked your threads well.

That is a lovely photo of the pair of you.

I got my first Pfizer Vaccine jab in the UK  11 days ago I'm 64.

Pauline is 59 on March 13th and has her first vaccine jab booked for March 24th.

Our last cruise was a 15 night Hawaiian cruise on Grand Princess November/ December 2019.

Graham.

I think that finding the exact point of the spoon's balance, as well as the ax's on the egg are spectacular.

I sometimes find it fascinating to see how his mind works....😁

It’s amazing how the ax is balanced.

Big excitement this morning. Descaling the Keurig. 🤦‍♂️

It is a thankless task.

Hmmm, I wonder if this is why the coffee in the doctors' lounge at the hospital tastes like crap.

I'm not sure about the Keurig but I have an Nespresso and it gives you a warning on your last cup.  If you don't clean you won't be enjoying another cup.  I didn't realize this (red light went on then off) until the next morning.  Google informed me I would not be having a cup anytime soon until I attended to the machine.

I use regular vinegar too.  I also will dump baking soda into the sink before I dump the hot vinegar down the drain.  Might as well clean the sink and garbage disposal with all that hot vinegar.  Good for the pipes too.

Me too...I love fresh ground coffee and ninja coffee maker.  Can do by pot, cup or travel mug.   Not a fan of Keurig pods.  We have one at the office which is convenient since hardly anyone there these days but at home I love to grind my coffee beans at night time and set the timer for my pot to be ready at 8 am.

We made it to Atlantic City.  Seems a bit too crowded for my taste but at least we are two shots in.

Just ran into a wonderful housekeeping lady that always took care of us when we came with my mom. She said I remember you well, always with mom and she knew about her accident.  Can’t lie I teared up with all the memories.  Then she handed me a bag of stuff for the room!!!!

Finished the outside work before lunch and it was almost above freezing.

Came back to house and threw the baseball outside with Owen for a while. Lunch consumed, showered off the smokey smell and made a Caesar.

Now enjoying the Islanders beat the Sabres with NASCAR  to follow. Steak BBQ tonight. Great way to spend the afternoon as it is now just below freezing again.
