*Arrived at the airport shortly after 7 a.m.

*Rode HAL transfer to the port from 9 to 9:30.  It is a rainy day in Amsterdam.

*Went through several stations to board ship (photos to come) 9:30 - 10:30

*Waited until around 11:00.  The crowd was very large. We were in the fifth group of 50 people.

*The captain said a few words.  Soon after, the boarding began.

We are on the Rotterdam VII !

Looking at the webcam (linked in another thread).  Looks like departure is delayed.  Wish I was there!

I just saw a Seth Wayne short video on Facebook. It should have been a sail away party, however, the winds and rain have decided to mess up that and that departure plan. Seth said it'll probably be midnight before they leave.

Me too.  I had read earlier that it would be Captain Timmers and I was happy about that because he was Captain of the Koningsdam 2019 transatlantic.  He was great and I was looking forward to sailing with him again on November 5.  But the Facebook message from Captain van Dreumel spoke of "his team".  We'll find out for sure one of these days 🙂
