Hi everyone.

I have not read the post today. Just want to let you know that I am in the emergency room to rule out a blood clot in my lungs. I will post later with the results. Haven’t been feeling well for the last few days hope everyone is OK. Will post later, God bless Terri

Sending you my prayers 🙏 Terri that you have not got a blood clot in your lung's and that you are feeling better pretty quickly.

Hello everyone,

All I know right now is that I do not have a blood clot.

It was a mistake and they gave me medicine that they should have given to someone else, so I don’t know what’s wrong with me all I know is that I got medicine that I shouldn’t have gotten, more later Terri

Good afternoon. Thanks for the Fleet Report/Daily.

I actually like dentists. Frozen food is convenient, especially veggies and fruit when fresh isn't available. Yes to Oreo's (double stuff), although none for me right now. Funny quote, although a bit sad for those of us with no living family (although friends can be like family). I like the meal, although no rice for now. I'll pass on the drink and wine.

I have been to Auckland, on my first HAL cruise from Auckland to Sydney.

It is lovely here, 52F and sunny. Whew, I'm tired after running multiple errands this morning. I'm just sitting down with coffee and posting now. I can't believe russet potatoes were $2.99/lb at the store!

@StLouisCruisers Thank you for our startup today. Prayers for your family member having a rough go. Great photos from Auckland. Good to hear your bloodwork was normal and I hope the physical is too. My walkways need to be power washed; I haven't done it for a few years.

@smitty34877 It sounds like you're doing well with the dog walks. Thinking of Tana.

@rafinmd Great that you slept better last night. I never knew about that coast to coast walk in NZ.

@aliaschief Sorry about the garbage cans. Are there bears in FL? Nice Auckland photos.

@mamaofami Enjoy your afternoon with DGS.

@dfish Sorry to hear of your pain during the night; maybe due to your calcium issues?

@cunnorl The tournament should be fun, and so nice that DD gets to participate with DH.

@Quartzsite Cruiser Great pictures.

@Seasick Sailor That was kind of the vet. Hugs to your niece.

@richwmn Thank you for having set things up so we could continue.

@Mtn2Sea Wow on the jump! You've braver than me.

@Cruzin Terri Oh no! Praying for you. I hope the mixup in meds isn't detrimental.

Prayers for the Care List and Cheers for the Celebration List.

Some Auckland pictures.

We just got back from Parintins, it was steaming hot.  We found a chuarrisco restaurant and enjoyed two large beers while killing time before Boi Bumba. It was on the water and nice views. We went over to get in line around 11:30 and the convention center was already open so the line was only 5 minutes long.  Somehow on the far side were front row seats.  Since the dancers cover the whole stage we got great photos and videos.  The bull came over with a DVD in his mouth and John was able to muscle it out.  Double good luck!   PURE JOY!

We have a Mediterranean Cellar Master Dinner in the Canaletto tonight.   Have a wonderful day and thanks for all the contributions! Nancy

Thank you for your kind words, Vanessa.  Your photos are wonderful of Auckland.  I couldn't do the jump either like @Mtn2Seadid (excellent photos to you too by the way).  My doctor visit went fine.  She recommended another pneumonia shot after examining my records, and it was time for a bone density test, too.  All finished.  New prescriptions sent in for this year as well.  Edited to say, when I returned home DH had cleaned the dirty patio and was working on power washing the public sidewalk and the curbing.  Looks great and no nagging needed.  However he did say "I'm getting old"!!😏

@JazzyVYes the black bears are in Florida and in this area they are spotted frequently and can become problem Teddy’s! Our property abuts the largest Air Force Base in the free world that encompasses over 426,000 acres. So their is lots of wildlife out there. We also have a neighborhood Bobcat, coyotes, fox and of course nosy raccoons.

Sandi, I'm glad the physical went well. I recently got another pneumonia shot too. And I'll be due for my bone density this summer, along with my mammogram. When I was filling my pill box yesterday (it holds 2 weeks of meds) I was appalled to find I only had one week of one med. I couldn't find a refill on the local pharmacy app or Caremark. So I shot off a refill request to my Cardiologist and it went to mail order this AM. Kudos to DH on the work he did while you were away!

Good morning, more than slightly bleary eyed after the red eye.  @JazzyVthanks for the welcome home.
Yesterday we found a jacaranda full in bloom,  today ice and snow and a leaky toilet!
Strangely enough we discovered a really good cauliflower fried rice at the big box store, and guilt free!  We still like the big box for its value, but refrain from too large of jars.
I will catch up later sending good wishes to all!

Good afternoon.  I got my walk in early today since our mail had come.  The sun is out, but it is still partly cloudy.

A little over a month ago, we had our second visit to Auckland while on the Zuiderdam.  After our first visit in 2019, I always regretted not doing the jump off the Sky Tower, so this time a jump was on my agenda.  I told several people I was thinking of doing the jump if I didn’t chicken out.  When I signed up for the jump and while getting ready for it, I kept thinking “Am I really doing this?”  I didn’t get nervous until I was on the platform and the attendant was starting his countdown.  I wasn’t sure I could get my hands off the bars, but I did.  Almost immediately after I began the descent, a feeling of calm came over me.  I thoughtfully enjoyed it!  By the way, if you are 75 or older, the jump is free.

Although it looks like the attendant is having to push me, I jumped voluntarily.

Thanks for the pictures.  As far as the jump off the Sky Tower, my first thought was better you than me.  I'm glad you enjoyed it.  I was doing good to not panic with the plexiglass floors in the tower.

In my Auckland photos today if the cruise ship looked familiar that was P&O Line Pacific Aria formerly Hal’s MS Ryndam. I believe it has been sold again.

Bruce, it's always good to see a BHB even it if is no longer a BHB.  Ryndam was our first HAL ship, and we sailed on her several times.

Vanessa, thanks for the great pictures of Auckland, and especially of the Statendam.  We always enjoyed our cruises on her.  Wow on  $2.99 a pound for potatoes.  This week our grocery has a five pound bag on sale for $2.47 and with the e coupon, it was $147.

Nancy

Nancy, thanks for the pictures of the Boi Bumba show.  It must have been amazing.

Sandi, I'm glad the physical went well and all your blood tests were normal.  I have my six month check up for new prescriptions next month.   Our doctor likes to do blood tests every six months for some medications, and those are the ones I'm taking.

Welcome home to the "frozen tundra", Brenda.  Thanks for all the wonderful pictures.

Now to go tackle trimming the scrubs.  It's not that hard except I have one muscle in my back that protests about leaning over after doing two scrubs and we have seven.  Guess I'll be proactive and put Aspercreme on my back and take a couple of Advil.

Hi Everyone,

I am home.  I have a soft tissue strain and they gave me pain meds.

The mistaken medicine they gave me by IV was an antibiotic, which they say will not hurt me.   I don't know whether I believe them, but I have the name of the stuff and I will let my PCP know what it is.

I am just glad I don't have a blood clot.  Having had four (2 in each lung) I was scared to death that I had another.  It was the same kind of pain.

Thank you all for your concern and prayers.

Terri

Hello everyone,

All I know right now is that I do not have a blood clot.

It was a mistake and they gave me medicine that they should have given to someone else, so I don’t know what’s wrong with me all I know is that I got medicine that I shouldn’t have gotten, more later Terri

I'm pleased you don't have a blood clot Terri but the ER sound negligent giving you medicine that was not for you.

Graham.

Oh no @Cruzin Terri! My DH had so many medication errors that I wrote out meds he should and shouldn’t take in a sheet protector and pinning it to his nightgown front. He was so out of it after his procedures he still at times could tell them wrong med. please let us know how it goes.

Write out the med. I will tell you what it is.

It appears that dinner tonight will be a stew of tomatoes, green beans, and tofu, served over spaghetti, because those are the ingredients that I have.

New worry: according to the roll calls (there are two, overlapping), people booked for the Spanish Farewell are expecting to have a horrible time, based on recent posts about the Oosterdam and, really, all HAL ships. At least one has cancelled, and I rather hope that all those who would be whining and complaining for the entire cruise will cancel, too. Cruise Critic is feeling more and more like FlyerTalk: too many posts with extreme sense of entitlement and anger about everything.

Wow.

That was very brave of you.

I don't like heights and would never have done what you did.

We are back from Detroit airport where we dropped my DSIL for her flight home to Germany . Crossing that border makes me so anxious and it doesn’t help when the truck traffic is back up all the way into Canada! The bridge moves, as it must or it will collapse, but I don’t have to like it. The other option is the tunnel under the Detroit river and I like that route even less! But customs and immigration was ok both ways.

great family time yesterday, all the grands made it, some only fir a short time because they have exams but everybody was here. My DSIL enjoyed herself immensely. She turns 80 at the end of April and has ongoing heart issues so we take what time we can!

So much going on in this thread. Prayers for all with issues. I don’t want to list because I know I will forget someone. I am already celebrating Happy Hour so joy to all those celebrating.

@kochleffelIn my opinion you have no reason to worry about your upcoming YA.  DH and I had a wonderful time on the Oosterdam Spanish Farewell in November 2023.  We enjoyed our stay in Barcelona prior to the cruise.  The ports were fantastic.  From Cadiz we took a tour to Seville and toured Barrio Santa Cruz, the historic Jewish quarter and the Royal Alcazar Palace,  a wonderful mix of Christian, Jewish and Muslim architecture.  My favorite port was the island of Madeira, I could go back there for a week.  The ship was not crowded, we took a very reasonable upgrade to a Signature Suite.  The staff was extraordinary.  The food was good.  We had an excellent guest lecturer and daily cooking demonstrations on sea days.  The ship was in fine shape.  @kazu did a live thread of our sailing and @ger_77was on the trip too.
