Well, the dance is over.  Strikers beat Jags 4 to 2.  In the other semifinal matchup #2 seed Atlanta United beat #6 seed Solar FC from Irvine, CA.  So the #1 and #2 match up Saturday at 5 pm central.  

 

DS says Ren played great and apparently the commentator praised him highly.  It would have been a big help if other strikers on the team had scored but Ren and Colton scored all 8 goals in the 4 games they played this week.  Jags will surely miss them both when they move on to FC Dallas and Colorado Rapids next month.  I believe Lenda @Quartzsite Cruiser mentioned it would have been nice if the two boys could continue on together but I think Colton's Mom liked the Denver area, may have even had family there so he went with the Colorado team.  

 

Still very happy with how far they went in this tournament.  28 teams went home before the Jags did so great work boys!

Good afternoon everyone.  Thanks for the daily report.  Hats off to onion rings and chocolate eclairs sounds like a filling duo!  I have a Bing screensaver that changes each day and today is a photo of a tropical rainforest in Peru, so lovely and deserves our care.  Rodney Dangerfield was so funny, I can almost hear him saying the quote.  I think I’ll pass on the meal suggestion and just taste today’s drink to see if I would like it.  I haven’t been to today’s port.  Prayers for those of you who need them.   Cheers to everyone celebrating happy events!

I'm sorry to hear they lost Sandi @StLouisCruisers but it sounds like Ren and Colton have made a big impression.

Football is about goals and a goalscorer is priceless so I hope Ren continues in this role and hopefully he is destined for a big future in football.

Thank you Graham!  Your support has meant a lot as well as everyone here who consider themselves Jaguar cheerleaders these days.  Starting a month from now you can all switch teams with Ren and be FC Dallas cheerleaders.  Lol😂

 

In happier news today we finalized plans for B2B cruises next year on the Zuiderdam.  First time on that ship.  I've just posted on Jacqui's Future Cruise listing thread.  May 11, 2024 28 day Bermuda, Normandy and Baltic Jewels, followed by the June 8, 2024 42 day Ultimate Viking Explorer & Passage.  I probably caught DH in a weak moment but who am I to argue? 🥳

Back from the dentist.  Mostly ok but a little bit of bleeding (maybe less than expected) and still too numb to start post-op medication.

Good morning all!

It's still barely morning here on the West Coast.  Busy morning, the tours for our Grand Australia are really popping up fast now so a lot to keep up with.

 

I love chocolate eclairs but don't remember the last time I had one.  A hard pass on onion rings.  We have a lot of beautiful rainforests here in WA state.  Funny quote, I'll pass on the meal and make stuffed peppers tonight.  Will pass on the drink too, but would try the wine if someone else is buying!

 

We haven't been to this port but it's on the itinerary for the 2025 South America/Antarctica cruise.  Thank you Nancy @ottahand7, Sandi @StLouisCruisers, Lenda @Quartzsite Cruiser, Tony @sailingdutchy and Vanessa @JazzyV for all the great photos!

@rafinmd Sorry you had to have dental work over your birthday celebrations. Good on you making it to 80!  Hoping I get there. DH made that milestone last birthday and I can’t keep up with him! 🤣 Enjoy tge ice cream!  

 

@StLouisCruisers So happy for the boys’ deep run in the tournament. They are disappointed for sure but can be sonorous if they’re accomplishments. It’s a team sport and they are moving in, hopefully to teams of their strength level. Wishing them and their families all the best.

@marshhawk so sorry your pain is from a disk, but given the right environment it can heal!  Mine did! How I healed mine was by giving them a little of everything- stretches, nutritional supplements, some good psychology and energy healing too.  
 

@cruising sister It’s hard to release the memories that dreams were made of!  You’ve made a difficult decision, not just about the car but about you! Now you can make some new dreams come true, one day at a time. Good for you!  🚘

After tooth extraction my dentist always recommends rinsing mouth carefully with warm salt water.

I hope your dental appointment cured whatever tooth issue you had Roy.

On this sad day, I’m watching the news conference confirming the loss of the Titan . The vessel debris have been found and they believe it imploded. 💔🙏

    On an ironic note, I saw last night on a news feed from the Daily Mail that the wife of Ocean Gate’s owner was a direct descendant of Isidore Strauss who perished on the Titanic.

Hi everyone,

I have been trying to post most of the day.  The internet is abyssal. Today is a sea day so everyone is on the internet and we do not have Starlink on this ship. Posting now while people are at dinner.

Just checking in to say hello.

Tomorrow we are in Skagen, Denmark.  We are doing a ship tour.  Something unusual for us. However it hits all the places we want to see and it is easy.  Also, we have a ton of shipboard credit and it’s all non refundable so we have to use it some way.  

I will take pictures but not sure if I will be able to post them.  

A Happy Birthday to Roy and Good Luck with the Oral Surgeon.  May the Tooth Fairy be good to you!

@smitty34877 please know that you and your family are in my daily prayers even if I don’t post it every day.

Sandi, I'm sorry the team lost today, and with Ren and Colton basically carrying the team, it is good they made it to the semi-finals.  They should be very proud of the way they played and how far the team went in the tournament.

It's on the cloudy side today, with rain later, but not too hot. Just puttering around this AM. Later, I will be going with BFF to my mentor's 69th Anniversary dinner. I haven't seen any of these folks since before Covid. I know lots of their friends, as many years ago the couple acted as bonus parents and I spent most holidays at their house with their family and friends.

@StLouisCruisers I had an issue with my water pressure being too high; my water filter at the kitchen sink sprang a leak. After some reading, I purchased a gauge to measure the pressure at my laundry tub. It was 90 instead of 50. So the plumber came and replaced the pressure regulator where the water comes into the house. I guess they go bad after a while. It sounds like you found great plumbers. I tried to find the soccer game on Apple TV, but couldn't find it, only MLS.

@rafinmd Congrats on attaining age 80 today! I hope the dental procedure is relatively painless.

@Nickelpenny Enjoy your travels. It reminds me of the 2 driving trips I did with BFF on the way to National Parks; I was doing lots of oohing and aahing at all the sights.

@cruising sister It does sound like it was emotional selling the Mustang, but you did what you needed to do. I have an Acura RDX and I love it; I had an MDX before, but it was just too big for me as it's usually just me in it. It's a 2015, and I don't even have 30,000 miles on it. They keep eyeing it at the dealer, but I don't want a new car payment. I'd like a hybrid for my next car.

Our last trip to London we took a river boat down the Thames to Greenwich.  It is a relaxing and very interesting trip,  the museum is quite amazing with interesting maritime exhibits. 

 

Brenda, I enjoyed your pictures from Greenwich.  We also took a boat down the Thames from the Docklands area of London.

That is sad news about the Titan imploding.   The connection to the Strausses who died on the Titanic explains the interest in the ship.

Well, gee, I discovered a batch of posts on page 2 that I missed while preparing a post, texting with DS, eating lunch and calls back and forth with my travel agent getting things settled.  So sorry for my delay in responding to these particular posts!

 

Vanessa, how wonderful your mentor is celebrating their 69th anniversary!  Enjoy the dinner this evening and catching up with them.  Yes, the water pressure rising can be quite dangerous so it's good we both noticed and did something about it.  I think the RDX was a good compromise for you since they are smaller.  BTW, the new MDX is way bigger than my old one.  I rather preferred the size of the old one, but didn't notice it much during the process.  Thanks for your photos today.  I also probably missed thanking Tony @sailingdutchy and Lenda @Quartzsite Cruiser.  I appreciate seeing everyone's photos and hope I didn't miss mentioning them.

A quick afternoon check-in.  I just returned from lunch with my friend (it only took me 35 minutes to cross the city), turned on the television and saw that the Titan submersible appears to have imploded, killing all inside.  How tragic for all the families involved.

We are so excited and are looking forward to seeing you and Juan again.  It has only been 5 years, right?  I think that is how often we've been managing to cruise together.  

 

Today is one of those allergy days where the meds don't help and I am carrying the tissue box around with me.  I think I've gone through a whole box already.

Thank you everyone for your support and encouragement. I was  exhausted from all the decisions I made and I fell asleep this afternoon and woke up confused to if it was day or night. I have room darkening shades in the bedroom so it is easy to do. I feel at peace with my decision so I know it was the right one. 
 

@crusing along I know what you mean about the fast and furious on the Grand Australia roll call.
