Yes, we just spent a great week in Florida.  Beautiful weather, had nearly every meal outdoors.  But still everyone was wearing masks indoors, and outside until you were at your table.

FWIW, we've eaten out 4 times since March

Plenty of take out, though

The 2021 Boston Marathon has been postponed until at least next fall.

We as a country are not getting a handle on this. No amount of personal responsibility is going to bring down the numbers unless and until there is a mandate, and even then too many people will refuse to comply.

My anxiety level is going up. My parents on the other side of the country are getting up in years and declining in health, and because they are high risk I can't visit them unless I quarantine for at least 14 days after flying. Time is more precious than ever.

Thanks for your personal wishes but I am not that optimistic .The best treatment that I have is FaceTime with my grand kids.We are planning to do three hours tonight because people I am having skin cancer surgery tomorrow morning .

Wishing you the best for your surgery.  I've had all 3 kinds of skin cancers and was lucky to catch a very early melanoma in 2004 before it became a problem.

Too much iodine and baby oil when I was a teenager and too many Caribbean cruises with no sun protection.

I’m not an expert but I don’t believe a Federal Mask Mandate is enforceable in the States except on/in Federal property and locations. I believe it would be up to the States (Governor).

I still say people should be responsible.

My husband and I have eaten out once or twice  every week since the end of May - always outside with him and I have gone inside a few times.  Inside the restaurants have been almost empty, but it's not something I want to do frequently.

Now that the weather is turning cold and patio dining is over, I suppose we will have to settle for carry-out.

I always wear a mask indoors but I think it's complete overkill outdoors unless you are in a crowd, which is something I would avoid right now.

I simply don't think it's possible to contain the virus.  People need to be as careful as possible and avoid situations they consider questionable, but mental health is just as important to me as physical health and it's not a good thing to be cooped up indoors =-away from everyone.

Wishing you the very best. Nursing now a BCC on side of my nose.  It’s been a little over one month & healing beautifully now. First three weeks seemed like it would never heal. After follow-up appointment went back second time because I was afraid it wasn’t healing. Just takes time to heal. Too much sun when I was young also.

Why’s that? If one is vulnerable, they shouldn’t attend.

Everyone is vulnerable. It's just a matter of how much of a risk they want to take.  I go to work everyday, I handle money, touch counter surfaces which by the way wiping down the surfaces after each customer has slowly been reduced over the past 7 months. I don't see the same cleaning procedures now that I saw in March and April.  However I will continue to wear a mask and wash and sanitize my hands as much as possible during the working hours. I will not take part at any social event where social distancing and masks aren't being worn.  We eat in restaurants but the one we frequent is still being very cautious with paper tablecloths and paper menus.  Today I attempted to vote early. There was a line a mile long and nobody was social distancing. They were waiting outside and some weren't wearing masks.  I passed and went home.  The point of voting early was to avoid the crowds. It looks like it will be less crowded on election day.

I saw a group of 4 guys wearing Dodgers tee shirts. While they could be brothers it is not that likely because one was Caucasian ,one black, and 2 Asian. They were seated next to each other.

They could be friends or Coworkers. We socialize with people outside of those who are living with us. We don't wear masks when we are in each others homes.

I'm pleased it is healing for you.

We had friends round for dinner last night. We are in tier 1 in England so it's allowed. But I spaced my settees 2 mtrs apart and set the dinning table so my husband and I were down one end and other couple at the other. Took as many precautions as I could, but with our R rate now over 2 in the south of England and rising, it's probably the last socialising indoors we will be doing for the foreseeable future 🙄

When I refer to the vulnerable, it’s in reference to those who are symptomatic and likely to become very sick and die. So many more people are Asymptomatic and the virus has little to no effect. If you’re  in a category that is more likely to have an issue like age, obesity, diabetes, and other Comorbidities (sp?), you should be responsible for you. Don’t attend events as mentioned here in this thread.

Agree with all you said.

I almost forgot I started this thread as whether or not cruises might not start until March.  As always it went down the same old rabbit hole of a general covid discussion.

Yep. This one turned quickly, beginning with post #5 and became a COVID19 thread.  It’s hard to stay on track when some posts should not go unanswered.

Seems some live off the fear mongering.

I was hoping that the short cruises would be starting sooner but at this rate I'm thinking they won't/might start until March.  So much for the member here who told me it will all be over by June, and with his "tone" to me it wasn't June 2021.

I asked my Travel Agent, who is from the Tampa area, whether she had been invited by Royal on any Travel Agent Cruises for December. She said no and has not heard a word yet about any preview cruises for TAs. She did say to watch for Navigator and Mariner to be the first ships that Royal sends out when they do resume cruising.

We go out to eat every weekend. Every restaurant has been filled to their limit for the past few months with some have long wait times. A mask is only needed when walking through the restaurant. Our daughter is a nurse, in Chicago, working with Covid patients and has been told to stay in a bubble. Her and her co workers have taken every advantage to dine out since things have reopened but now have started scrambling to get reservations before the city closes down on Friday.
