Churchill’s is Now Non Smoking Too

This makes no sense.  As a non-smoker who abhors the stench of cigars, I have always advocated for special cigar rooms, so that those who enjoy this noxious offensive activity can do it in peace without infringing on my right to breathe.

This will be a disappointment to DH.   We Sail in Feb and he was planning on taking a couple of cigars to enjoy there.    He is unaware that our grandson bought him a couple of Opus Xs for Christmas and I am sure they would be in travel humidor to take.  No way he would smoke them outside in the wind.

It's noxious and offensive walking past the lounge because the smell wafts in the entire area outside the lounge. Walking into the Princess theater you have to hold your nose. It also stinks up the corridor of the window suites.

I could have sworn that this was an option.  Churchills was on the port side, and you could walk into the theater on the starboard side.

Not coming out of the window suite which is starboard side as is Churchill . Technically I could go a long long way forward to back track to the port side BUT why should I when the offender is the lounge. It's a moot point anyway because there is now no cigar bar. The casino also went smoke free Sunday per a ship wide announcement on a permanent basis. Smoking and second hand smoke is finally recognized as a hazard and being eliminated as best as possible.

Instead of complaining, why don't you just go in by the other side. You already have 99.9% of the ship to yourselves.

Why should anyone be inconvenienced, the solution is simple - BAN indoor smoking. Smokers are polluting the air. OH WAIT PRINCESS AGREES AND DID JUST THAT.

We do not yet know if this change, along with the ban on casino smoking, is permanent or not.

I am a reformed smoker and absolutely detest smoke regardless of source. This, however, makes no sense to me.

I don't think Princess is reacting to the smoke.  They are reacting to the fact that people smoking in the Casino and Churchills are exhaling deeply and potentially spreading Covid.

Due to the omicron variant, Princess now says you must wear a mask anytime inside unless actively eating or drinking or while in your cabin.

Thus, no smoking allowed currently in the casino and the cigar lounge.

This.  The changes in policy are not "anti-smoking", but "pro-masking".  Hard to smoke with a mask on.

Most here are saying that they agree that smoking should not be permitted while in the public areas and that masks should be worn there as well but not while eating, drinking or in your cabin.  If smoking might be OK if done outdoors then why not bring back the opportunity to smoke on your balcony.

As a casual cigar smoker, one of my simple pleasures was to sit out on the balcony with a cigar and an adult beverage.  I really don't enjoy sitting in Churchill's inside with no view and surrounded by other cigarette and cigar smokers.  Bring back outside smoking on the balcony.
