Happy Monday. I will be mincing onions and red peppers for sloppy joes for our dinner tonight.  The drink looks very good but I am afraid it would taste so good it would be gone in 10 minutes. Cool 51degrees, breeze and cloudy I will be slow getting started in the garden.

Have a great day! Prayers for the people in Ukraine things appear to be turning for the worse.  Prayers for all needing them.    Thanks for the Daily Reports.

Good Monday Morning!

Regarding the quote, I guess in an ideal world, we could be understood, and loved in spite of it.

My face was used again last night as a spring board for Tazi. Cuts on forehead, cheek, and inside my nostril!  It's not the best way to be woken up.

@aliaschiefGood luck on finding the keys.  I'm always scared I will lock myself out of the neighbors house and be stuck with her dog all day.  Cats would not approve of the dog spending the day with us.

@durangoscots I am so happy that you gave Monty a forever home.  I hope Bandit enjoys having a "baby brother".

I used to have clip on sunglasses, that just popped on my glasses, but have been told they don't make that style anymore.  Onions pretty much go in every recipe I make.  I have read that onions help break down cholesterol, you'd think mine would be lower. Years ago when visiting my folks, they suggested I go to the neighborhood bingo game.  These people were serious players.  I won 100 bucks on the first game, and since I was a newbie and not from there, the players were not very happy.

My doctor sent me a message this morning, A1C is up, so back to attempting a serious diet again.

Yesterday was a fish day for me, tuna for lunch, and I took DH out to Red Lobster for dinner.  Crab legs are now sold at market price, so a meal that was 22 dollars a year ago, was 33 as of last night.  I didn't get them.  I did order a 3 course meal from their new menu.  Salad, shrimp cocktail and for the main course, bbq bacon shrimp on a skewer. (my side was Brussel sprouts) DH and I split a slice of Meyer Lemon Cake -20.00 bucks for each dinner, the cake at 5 was not worth it.

Good morning from a partly cloudy and windy central Texas.  It will be cooler today 94F, but not quite as cool as predicted -- 90F.  This will be quick since I want to get the yard done while the temperatures are still in the 70s and 80sF.

We also use quite a few onions when cooking.  Living in Texas and Arizona, sunglasses are a must.  I haven't played Bingo in 20 years, but I've enjoyed it.  On an early cruise on a very small ship, they let the DD's play bingo since there was no age requirement.   May people who played the last day to try to win the jackpot were upset when younger DD won.  The CD told them she had been playing all week while they hadn't.  The next time we were on the ship, they were no longer old enough to play.

The quote is interesting, but I think people want to be loved and understood.

The meal sounds good, but we'll pass on the drink and wine.  I'm just not into blue drinks.

We have been to Korcula once in 2016 on Prinsendam.  It was a substitute port when our Black Sea cruise was canceled after the attempted coup in Turkiye.

@smitty34877  Terry, I'm glad your DH's gout is improving.  I hope Tana had a better night last night.

@aliaschief  I hope you find your neighbor's keys.

@Crazy For Cats  Enjoy your day in Halifax.

Good morning, thanks for the Fleet Report and Daily!  I use a lot of onions when I cook - I feel they always enhance the flavours of a dish.   We wear sunglasses year round; although we have tons of snow, we also have the most sunshine, so our sunglasses never take a break.   And there are always a few extra pair around just in case.   I've only played bingo a few times and am not very good at it; I see these people with a bajillion cards in front of them while I've got two cards and still miss numbers . . . it's not the game for me, obviously.

Oh boy, it's 7AM and the construction has started behind us and a couple of doors down.  I thought our noise bylaws stated you couldn't begin until 8AM, but they're out there pounding away already.  I guess that's going to be our norm for the next few months, as they have torn down the beautiful home that was there and are starting from scratch.

@kazu, I hope your trip to see family and friends was rejuvenating for you; you needed to get away.

@smitty34877hoping your DH has good results at the doctor today.

I like today's menu suggestion, as it sounds like something I've ordered from our favourite Italian restaurant, but won't be making it today.  Today is the 8th anniversary of the last time I closed the door to my office; I can't believe I've been retired for 8 years already.  During that time I've gained 2 grandsons, 18 cruises, have survived a pandemic, and made a million memories.  I really am blessed.  DH will be taking me out for dinner today, and I really don't care where, just as long as we get to be together to celebrate.  Whatever is served to me tonight will be enjoyed immensely.  And wine.

Prayers for everyone who needs them and even for those who don't think they do.  Extra for the people of Ukraine who are so strong, and for all who are providing assistance to them.  We'll clink the glasses together to celebrate all on the happy list.  Stay safe, wear masks when you need to, get your boosters, and be well.

Smooth Sailing!  🙂🙂🙂

Good morning fellow Daily-ites. Wishing everyone cool breezes today. Goodness it's been hot here.

So adding to the band of armadillos and the lone stalker coyote, there are kittens living in the front yard storm drain. Our neighbor saw them again last night and they run when you try to approach and too far into the drain to reach. We have several feral and apparently fertile cats roaming the neighborhood.

We have a few more days of pet sitting until I take out our suitcase and start packing for Maui. I'm sad I'll miss Denise by a week. Maybe next time..

I like the sound of the Pasta dish and look forward to Debbie's recipes.

Prayers for Buddy, Curt, Tana, Sam and all on our prayer list.

Blessings, peace, prayers and cheers.

Hi Joy!  Hope you two are staying cool while you get ready for Hawaii.

I hear from my twin that Buddy is supposed to be getting his feeding tube directly into his stomach today, which I hope will get him stronger as he endures more cancer treatments.  He needed a unit of blood the other day because his hemoglobin and red blood cells were low.  It's good to hear everyone is taking such good care of him.  Your prayers for him are appreciated!

Just chatted on WhatsApp with DD who is going on a week long Caribbean cruise on Princess with one of her girlfriends from teaching.  They cruise this coming Saturday from FLL. She asked me about testing and I told her to get busy and make an appointment etc.  Gave her all the info she needed.  Still doing my Mom duties at this age!

Safe travels to you and Allen when you leave for Maui.

Good morning all!

Today is our last hot day for awhile, then it's back to cooler, wet days.  It's been a good trial run for the new A/C and I love it. 🙂

I like onions in moderation for added flavor in dishes -- too much doesn't agree with me though.  I wear sun glasses all year, even on some of our cloudy days.  Since I wear contacts, the sun really bothers my eyes.  In the past we played Bingo on BHBs every time it was offered.  Then the casino took it over and got very chintzy.  In the past it wasn't unusual for me to win hundreds of dollars  but not anymore so we rarely play now. It's a shame, we really enjoyed it.

Will pass on the drink (not a fan of coconut) and red wine.  The meal sounds good, but high in carbs.

Today I'll finally finish staining the deck -- just in time, as the weather is changing!

We've been to Korcula at least 3 times.  Once we took winery tours, once we took the "Dalmatian Riviera Cruise" excursion, and once we enjoyed walking, browsing and shopping.  It's a beautiful port as are most of the ports in Croatia.

A nice cool morning today although I am sure it will warm up. But not supposed to go much above high 70's. And the rain!!!! Last night we had a really heavy rain. Bandit came in pretty muddy after our walk - Monty stuck to the sidewalks.

Monty and I will be off shortly to do some errands, drop off my primary ballot, and head out the shelter for me to sign the final papers and get his microchip and also a heartworm test. He may be worried I am going to leave him... but it will do him good to go with me and return home. This morning he joined Bandit in the "breakfast dance" while I was getting things ready for them. He is starting to come out of his shell a bit although I don't think he will ever be a really outgoing dog. Fine with me.... my house is pretty tranquil... maybe even boring.

@durangoscots- I  am loving the tales (tails) of your new furbaby.  Driving around town with him will let him know he has a real home, especially the returning home to Bandit.  Then he can brag about his adventure.

DH says it's supposed to be in the 80's today and rain will come,  he did get me a new wiper today, but it's not on, so I hope I don't have to go anywhere.  LOL

Good morning all.  Pat has an appointment with the doctor on Thursday and with the physiotherapist tomorrow.  Depending on what happens tomorrow, he may cancel the Thursday one!  He is much better, but still some pain in his leg.  I was reading the Cruise Critic helpful hints for travelling email that I got yesterday and I forwarded it to him, although I don't know what more we can do about things before Saturday.  There's no way I can travel with just a carry-on!  We've been trying for ages to get a pass into a lounge in Halifax (6-hour stopover), haven't figured that one out.  TA is trying to help.  I am packed, but of course keep thinking of things I need to add.....

Love the sounds of Monty!  He would be just the right size for this complex,.  We are only allowed small dogs, most of the dogs that the Humane Society is trying to re-home are large, so we have to pass.  I think they said they got in 47 last week!  Or maybe it was just on one day!!

I don't know that I am all that happy with our heat pumps.  They have this special energy-saving mode where, if there is no movement for more than 20 minutes they slow down.  Fine in the house, but in the bedroom I don't like it - and you have to get out of bed and go near the unit to start it up again, it doesn't work if you just wave your arms in the air!   Going to have to figure out a way to reconfigure that mode...

Thanks for all the information today.  I'm especially praying for Ukraine, Tana, Buddy, Curt, Sam, and everyone on the list.  Roy is wonderful at keeping everyone straight, isn't he!

Good afternoon. Thanks for the Daily/Fleet report.

Onions add a lot of flavor in cooking. Sunglasses are very important for me with my eye condition; I'm never outside without them, even on cloudy days. My regular glasses are also Transitions, but I can't wear them now as I get headaches from them. I'm not sure if I've ever played bingo!

Not sure about the quote. I'll pass on the pasta, drink and take the wine.

I've never been to Korcula. Thanks for the photos.

Another nice day today, not too hot. But 90's are coming again. Our rainstorms last night turned out to not be much rain. The leg is fair. I called the PCP's office for follow-up and no appointments until late August (although they were looking into seeing a PA sooner). I called Wound Care who prescribes my compression stockings and will see them on Wednesday (and I think they deal with this all the time, so a better choice).

@durangoscots It's so sweet that Monty is joining your family!

@smitty34877 I'm glad DH is doing better. Prayers for Tana.

@aliaschief I hope you find the keys!

@ottahand7 Beautiful scenery there.

@Quartzsite Cruiser Great pictures of Korcula.

@StLouisCruisers Continued prayers for Buddy. I hope you and DH are enjoying the remainder of the cruise.

@Cruising-along Thanks for the photos of Korcula.

@Vict0riann Good to hear that Pat is feeling better and hopefully the pain eases up.

Prayers for the Care List and a Toast to the Celebration List.

Stay safe everyone.

Hi everyone.  I was stung by a bee on my hand about a week ago, and it didn’t go well, but is finally better.   I’m very behind times here, so I’ll spend some time reading and catching up.
Wishing all a good start to the week.   😊

I was painting the 2nd story on our home in Idaho. I did not see the wasp nest til it was too late. I was only stung 3 times on my hand and arm on the way down the ladder but my fingers and arm swelled and so did my tongue! I took 2 Benedril and put my arm in the ice container. I learned my lesson..

@Quartzsite Cruiser great Korcula pics.

We were sitting in one of those nice open air cafes when the proprietor told us that the storm was coming and that he was closing.  He suggested a restaurant about three doors down where we could get out of the rain.  Looking out the door of the restaurant, this was the rain.  It stopped just as quickly as it started.  By then we had had a lovely braised octopus meal with local red wine and a wonderful conversation with the restaurant owner.
