@marshhawk Annie, it takes what it takes!  We were not very sick, thankfully, but very tired for weeks. How is Chuck?

@kazu  🎉🎂👏 Have a grand day and an inspiring year ahead!
Very stomach churning to see those nighttime fire pix. The winds usually lay down overnight and that’s when firefighters can make progress. 🙏 for the safety of all impacted. We drove through that region with our truck/trailer. I remember driving the road to Parsboro. Such sadness. 💔

And so sad to hear about the teen missing @ocean sounds

@smitty34877 Blessings for DH, you and all the team!  May it all go Amazing!

@ottahand7 great that the lake pump is working. Your plantings will love it!  Starlink sure makes life better in the backcountry. We were very lucky to have a DSL line at 1.5 kbs. But that was a huge improvement over dial-up 🤣

@ger_77 Hope DHs cardiologist can recommend a better path!

@dfish so glad you are feeling better and better!  As others have suggested, please be cautious to not overdo.

Our calendar this week is very full. Doctor appts for DHs eyes and a general followup for me. A couple of church groups and an exciting concert, maybe the last of this season. We lucked out on a surprisingly good concert last Sunday after the grandkids left.  A neighbor suggested it to us. It was nearby and no advanced tickets required, so very easy and fun. A pleasant surprise. It was at a community center with a troupe of musicians making the advancement into professional status. Such a treat!

Wishing you all a pleasant week. Blessings to all in need, and cheers to all celebrating, and anticipating!  Smooth travels to all away!

I’ve been checking in on @Denise T and she’s seeing a lot of wildlife, they’re having a blast she says!

I looked at some of the videos of Carnival Sunshine. Looks like crew deck. Horrible mess but unclear if they took on water or pipes broke. We’ve had 70+kn winds, as have most cruisers. It shouldn’t look like that. I hope everyone is safe!

Yesterday afternoon DH had a call from his cardiologist's office saying they had a cancellation and could he come in this morning for an appointment - certainly!  So we're heading off to his appointment because he's been having an increase in the amount of angina over the past few months.

Good news for your DH’s appointment!  Hope it goes well and he receives positive news!

I'm imagining signs reading BE CREATIVE like the apocryphal THINK signs.

I wouldn't mind a mint julep, but I'll pass on mint and strawberries with chicken. I'd rather have Roy's alternative. I might like the drink but will probably never find out. OK on the wine. I haven't been to Valdez.

Sounds like a busy week.  Hope for positive news with the doctors’ appointments.

the unplanned concert sounds like it was a nice event!

Hello everyone and thanks for the Daily and Fleet report.

Happy birthday @kazu!

It's Glacier Bay Day today. It will be a cold one today with a possibility of some snow. Exactly what you expect traveling around Glaciers.

Looking forward to some beautiful scenery.

Thinking of everyone.

Have a safe and Healthy Day.

Good morning. Cool here as usual.... 41F but will get up into the high 70's or so they tell me. Dogs and I have walked twice this morning already.... the dawn chorus was particularly loud with song at about 5. I may sneak back for a nap in the next few hours.

The fires in Canada are terrible. And how the Carnival Sunshine managed to sail for its new cruise with some of crew displaced by the damage I will never know. What a miserable ending of a cruise.

@kazuHappy birthday!!! Hope you (and Ivan) have a great day. Here I will be trying to sort out this week. There are several interesting events on my calendar, but all are marked with a "?". Need to firm up some of those plans. I will take time to work in the flower beds this morning. With all the moisture the weeds are rising fast.

Take care all

Good morning all!

I wish I was more creative but do admire the trait in others.  I've never had a Mint Julep, probably because I don't care for Bourbon, and the weather forecast has changed now from no rain for a week to some drizzle today and tomorrow so I won't need to water the flowers today.

The closest to gambling I've ever come is playing Bingo on cruises but even that is less ever since the casino took over the Bingo games on BHBs a few years back.  I'm definitely not getting the big wins I did in the past.  The second recipe grabbed me when I saw Balsamic Vinegar, so that's the one I'd like. 🙂    Will pass on the red wine but the drink would be good.  Have been to Alaska a few times but not to Valdez.

Since the weather has changed and I got so much done outside yesterday, today I'll (finally) be doing that vacuuming etc. inside!

Jacqui @kazu Happy Birthday!!!  Very sorry to hear about the wildfires though.  The photos are alarming.

Welcome home @Cat in my lap and @cruising sister!

@ocean sounds How sad about the missing teen.  Prayers for him and the families.

Terry @smitty34877 Prayers for your DH tomorrow that he has a successful surgery and swift recovery.

Good morning everyone!

Hope you all had a good weekend, I did.

The highlight for me was a Disney Immersion show I went to with my sister and niece; the photography was beautiful.

@kazu, Happy Birthday! Enjoy your day. The picture of Ivan is adorable, he looks happy and loved, because of your big heart.

@cruising sister, welcome home! Glad the cruise was good. Sad the trip home was complicated. I hope you are able to rest after that, yikes! Congrats on the new cruise booking...

My thanks to all that contribute or will contribute to the Daily today; always enjoyable and informational. 😊

@Denise T following your live review, all fun!

Take good care all,

Caron

Good morning, all! We have hot weather coming next week, so I’ll wait until then to try  today’s drink. I’ve been to Alaska several, times, but never stopped at Valdez.

@kazu Happy Birthday, Jacqui!

Yesterday was our anniversary. DH took me out shopping, but eating at home is still a novelty so we picked up things to eat here. I heard back from the Dutch company that makes the Grand Voyage plates, and they confirmed that the plates are food safe and can be used as dinnerware. So we ate off our GWV plates for our anniversary! In the evening we walked to DQ and shared a banana split. This is an anniversary tradition for us.

Happy Tuesday, everyone. Let’s hope none of our BHB’s catch the kind of storm that Carnival ship did!😳

we got back from world cruise 5/12 and have been busy dealing with water leak, and broken stove igniter and wine cooler. Also I was told I need implants for 2 teeth, so I’m getting a second opinion today.  But we are both feeling well!  And trying to lose the few pounds we gained on cruise.

thanks for all of the info and jokes!

Welcome home.  I'm sorry you returned to trouble at home.  Sorry about the teeth needing implants, but they do work.

@Cruising-along (hope I’m remembering correctly) and anyone else waiting for tours on HMC - I called shore excursions to see is I could book the Private Oasis without it being listed.  No dice.

But, she did tell me they were having issues with the HMC excursions for the cruise time frame of October and several months after.  She said she thought they should be up within 3 months of our sailing at the latest.

The only thing we can do is keep checking. 😔

Gosh, that is late to be posting them -- but I'm glad you got a straight answer at least (instead of the usual "we expect to have them posted soon" or a variation of that.

I'm actually waiting for Australia and NZ excursions.  We're still 7-8 months out, maybe these just take longer.  I'm impatient lol.
