The Daily for Tuesday September 21, 2021

Good Morning Everyone, thanks for the daily report.  Who can’t support international peace day?  It’s been a very long time since I played miniature golf.  @kazu the daily dish looks good and would be welcome here.

After dinner last night I hit the wine store and adopted a case of Pinot and a case of Chardonnay.  They will have a good home, for awhile.  It’s always good to stock up for the long New England winter.  DH claims winter is already here😂

Yesterday I started transitioning the plants that were taken outside back to indoors.  The cats are fond of this since they like to make their beds in some of them.

Good morning, thanks for the Daily!  Our Chinese friends always celebrate today and we are usually the recipients of a gift of Chinese Moon Cakes, so we have that to look forward to!  We all hope for international peace - every day.  I don't recall the last time I played miniature golf, but I do remember getting a hole in one once.

Well we had our federal election in Canada last night and I just heard a fellow on the radio sum it up perfectly:  It's like having tofu for dinner; you had it, but you're just not satisfied.  LOL

Late last night, DH decided to check the weather - well, there was a possibility of frost overnight, so out we went in the dark, covering our plants by the light of the moon.  After we were finished, we walked to the end of the block to the open park where we enjoyed looking at the bright harvest moon for a while.

I'll pass on the drink of the day, as I don't like the idea of a raw egg yolk in my drink.  I like today's wine suggestion, and will put it on my list - we enjoy Chilean wines.  Speaking of wine, this came up on my FB feed today, so I thought I'd share it here

980086995_YourWine.thumb.jpg.5d4b659db3d3a01ddf70b97001e83dc5.jpg

Today's menu suggestion is so very simple, but I'm sure it's going to be delicious.  We just had chicken breasts the other day, so I'm going to hang on to the recipe as I'm sure it will be a hit.   While looking for something in the freezer the other day, I ran across a container of chili, which is now defrosting in the fridge and will be served along with a side salad and fresh crusty buns for dinner tonight.  And wine.

Prayers for everyone who needs them and even for those who don't think they do.  Raising the glasses to cheer on all who make up the celebration list.  Stay safe, wash your hands, be well, wear your mask, and hydrate!

Smooth Sailing!   🙂🙂🙂

Good Morning Everyone from a warm and cloudy day at the beach

Peace Day should be embraced and celebrated every day.  Miniature  golf is always fun but I prefer the "real thing".

Perth/Fremantle is on our scheduled trip in 2022. I am feeling a little more optimistic that it will really go. @StLouisCruisers Love the pictures. The current itinerary calls for an overnite so we would have a day for Freemantle and day for Perth.

Had a Doctors appointment yesterday in Orlando. Drove over an hour and a half in the rain to find out it was cancelled when I arrived. It was for a test that required prep so to say I was not happy is an understatement. Oh well, time for  my happy place ! LOl

 Stay safe and enjoy today

We visited Fremantle/Perth in 2013 on our circumnavigation tour of Australia.

Fremantle is a port city in Western Australia that's part of the Perth metropolitan area. It's known for its maritime history, Victorian architecture and remnants from Australia's days as a British penal colony.

There was tram shuttle service from the port to downtown Fremantle.

We took an independent arranged tour which included a tram/bus tour of Fremantle, Swan River cruise to Perth, bus tour of Perth, and return to Fremantle by train.

Places visited in Fremantle included:

Fremantle Prison, which housed convicts from the 1850s to 1991, now features re-created cellblocks.

Fremantle became Australia's primary destination for convicts. The convict-built Fremantle Prison operated long after transportation ended in 1868, and is now a World Heritage Site.

👍Thank you for The Daily Rich @richwmn and to Roy @rafinmd for the Care and Celebration Lists. 😊Great photos @StLouisCruisers...we also were on a circumnavigation in Nov. 2014 (🚢Volendam) and did our own thing visiting the prison, markets, and beach area in Fremantle. I remember it being Fleet Week and touring some ships, too. I wanted to visit Rottnest Island ....next time.🤓

🙏Prayers to all in need.

Good morning, Daiyites.  Many thanks to Rich and Roy for keeping us going, and all the interesting news from everyone!

We flew to Australia in 2010, starting in Sydney, we took the train to Perth to visit Pat's sister.  They treated us royally, with a few days on Rottnest Island, and we also visited Margaret River, the wine country, and Fremantle.

Thanks to everyone for the photos of Fremantle.  We were supposed to be there 2/27/2020 on the Pacific Princess WC segment from Sydney to Capetown.  We unfortunately had to cancel this cruise at the last minute due to health problems 😥 and as it turned out, this was also caught up in the abrupt cancellation of cruising due to Covid.  It was a bad reason to cancel but in the long run we were fortunate to not have to deal with what those folks had to.

Good morning everyone and Happy Tuesday!  Thank you for the Daily Rich and thank you for your lists Roy.

I’ll celebrate all of the days today. And the meal suggestion sounds really good even though I’m not a big chicken fan, but with butter and garlic, yum. I’m thinking that adding mushrooms might be yummy too.

Thanks for the pictures of Fremantle. I would love to visit Australia someday.

I hope everyone has a great day today!

Good morning from a surprisinbly rainy central Texas.  We just had a small pop-up rain system moved through here and dropped a little more than 1/4 inch.  We can't remember the last time it rained, but the last significant rain was in July.

The Chinese Moon Festival sounds interesting.  World Peace needs to be celebrated and practiced everyday.  The last time I played minature gold was in 2002 on our last RCCL cruise.

An interesting quote today.

Today's recipe sounds interesting as does the wine.  I'll pass on the drink.

The moon last night was really beautiful, but my attempts to take a decent picture failed.

@cat shepard  Ann, that's great that you have full range of motion in your knee.

@ger_77  Gerry, I loved the wine meme.

We were in Freemantle and Perth in 2000 on P&O Oriana's world cruise.  DH took these pictures as I was still using a film camera back then.  He had one of the first digital cameras which he bought for the cruise.

When the ship docked, there were a lot of people at the terminal to greet us.  Many of those waiting for the ship had immigrated to Australia and were there to see relatives on the ship.  When we sailed late that night, the crew passed out streamers for the passengers to throw to their relatives.  Both sides held on to their end of the streamer until it broke as the ship moved away from the dock.

This ship was too long to get in one shot.  It is used to transport sheep in the open cages on the decks.

The next pictures are from our morning walk around Freemantle.  There may be one or two repeats, but from a different angle.

That afternoon we did a senic tour of Perth, but we wished we'd know about the train from the port into Perth before we bought our tour tickets.  We were in the front seat on the top deck of the bus so had some good views.

Good afternoon everyone. It’s been a busy day and I am too exhausted to even get the mail.

I belong to the United Federation of Teachers and they are changing their medical insurance along with some other unions in NYC and will have a Medicare Advantage Plan which will require authorization for all procedures and can take up to 14 days to give it. With all the MRIs and CTs and sonagrams Sam has had in the past 3 months if they deny anything I would have to pay out of pocket at a cost much higher than one test. My problem was that once I opted out of the new plan to keep what I have, no one knew how to contact or which insurance companies to contact because they would bill me directly. In desperation, I emailed the union head and he had someone call me and take care of it. That took 3 hours.

The good news is that Sam will be home next Thursday and  I called the agency and have an aide so that’s a big relief.

Sorry, I’m just too tired to read through today. I will be getting a second J and J shot soon since they came out with their info today.

Good afternoon. Thanks for the Daily.

Good days. A salute to Chinese Moon Day. Every day should be Peace Day. I like miniature golf but haven't played in ages. Nice quote.

The meal and wine sound good. I'll pass on the drink.

I've been to Australia, but not to Fremantle/Perth. Thanks to all for the pictures.

It's nice here today, but storms tomorrow and then a temperature drop.

I got my hair cut today. I'm happy my salon is enforcing mask wearing for employees and guests.

My night blooming cactus had it's one bloom of the year last night. I'll post some pics separately.

@cat shepard Yay on the knee full ROM!

@GeorgeCharlie Yes, I'd like to see your Perth pictures.

@Quartzsite Cruiser Congrats on the booster shots.

@mamaofami So sorry for all your insurance issues! But so glad to hear that Sam will be home soon and you have an aide lined up.

Prayers for the care list and cheers for the celebration list.

Stay safe and wear your mask.

So sorry to hear this.  😔. You have been though a lot and need to care of yourself please.  So many trial and tribulations can wear a person down. 😔 Try to relax and get some sleeps, naps, whatever it takes. I hope you can get some much needed rest and feel better soon.  🙏🏻

@mamaofami  Sorry you are still having insurance issues, but it's good that the union found someone to straigten it out.  Great news that Sam will be home soon, and that you have an aide lined up.  Get some rest, and hopefully, tomorrow will be a much better day.

@JazzyV  Vanessa, I envy you getting a hair cut and that your salon has a mask requirement.  My salon went out of business last month.  Two of the stylists went to one salon and the other to a different salon.  Since there are no mask mandates here, and I don't know anything about the new places I have resorted to cutting my own hair.  😱  So far the top and sides still look okay, and I can't see the back of my head.  😁

For the gardeners, some pictures of my cereus cactus.

It can have a flower, which only blooms at night, for one night. It didn't bloom last year.

@mamaofami my goodness, you've certainly had your share of stress - it's time for things to finally settle down for you.  So glad the union has provided someone to help you with all this.
