Wow, that's fascinating.  Wish I knew why some of us have this "quality" lol!

It would be nice if it had some use other than making us look like klutzes around electronics. I like to think it’s a more impressive reason than just having a loose wire somewhere.😄

Good morning Fellow Daily-ites.

85 degrees since we arrived. I feel bad for our Texas friends in 100+ degree weather every day.

Prayers out to all. Seems Covid has struck once again. Hoping everyone tests negative by the weekend.

My sis had forgotten her eye meds at home. Had to wait for the doctor to get a prescription to the pharmacy here, but it arrived and hoping she's on the mend.

The ocean was so wonderful yesterday. Won 4 games Corn hole. Lost 3 games gin rummy.

Today is beach day and games. My sis wants to just hang out. She leaves Friday, so we have 2 more weeks to do our thing.

Wishing you peace, blessings and cheers.

In my early 20s I worked in as a research technician at a university . There was a special electronic scale in its own room for precision weighing of minuscule samples. My physical proximity drove it haywire. The lab supervisor was furious when he found out that I always got someone else to weigh my samples, if they needed that scale. He demanded to know why I couldn’t work it myself.

I asked him to put something on the scale while I stood in the doorway. As I advanced across the room with my hands out, the digital readout on the scale climbed. As I backed away, it dropped again. From then on, he let me hand off working the electronic scale to others.
He  never really believed I wasn’t just pulling a fast one somehow, and made sure to make life difficult whenever I had to work in his part of the building.

Such a magnetic personality!😁

Good afternoon. Thanks for the Fleet Report/Daily.

I'm not a big fan of barbershop music. I embrace my Geekness; it comes in handy! I can't easily be in a Fool's Paradise. It's also National French Fries Day!

Great quote. The sorbetes looks good. I'll pass on the drink and wine.

I haven't been to Monte Carlo (was to have gone on my 2020 Cruise that didn't happen). Thanks for the photos.

Another warm day. Possible thunderstorm this evening, but not counting on it. I went and had my haircut at noon. Masks still required (yay!). My stylist said he and his wife had Covid a few weeks ago. Not from the salon, but taking someone home from church whose son had it; they were masked in the car, but still got it (not sure if the passenger was masked).

@smitty34877 Enjoy Cape Cod with your family!

@HAL Sailer I hope your DB is feeling better. Sad that you won't get to see Camilla and her parents.

@dfish It's almost here! Have a great cruise.

@Vict0riann Safe travels tomorrow and fingers crossed for negative tests.

@grapau27 Great to hear that Sarah is feeling better.

@kazu Lovely flowers. It's the same here; very dry and when they call for rain, we only get wind. I hope your toe is healing well.

@StLouisCruisers Good to hear you were able to sleep better. Sorry to hear that DD's test was still positive; good thing she has the insurance. Great photos, as usual!

@kb4683 Thanks for the Monaco photos.

@durangoscots I'm glad you're coming along after the fall. Good of that ER to call to check on you.

@Overhead Fred Nice photos.

@Cruising-along Better estimate on the skylight indeed. Great photo of DGS's and neighbor's DGD.

@Quartzsite Cruiser Thanks for the photos.

@marshhawk Sorry you aren't feeling well.

@Seasick Sailor I hope the eye meds fix DS's eye quickly.

Prayers for the Care List and a Toast to the Celebration List (although after dry June, my first and only glass of wine gave me palpitations!).

Stay safe everyone.

Good morning from central Texas.  I'm going to stop the weather report since it is the same everyday.

Another interesting collection of days to celebrate.  Like Sandi, @StLouisCruisers, I like the harmonizing of a barber shop quartet, but in small doses.  I try not to live in a fool's paradise, and definitely not right now.  I'm not much of a geek, but do appreciate them to handle the technical issues.

The Mahatma Gandhi quote is very true.

While the sorbetes look and sound good, I'll pass today.  Tonight will be an easy and lighter meal than yesterday.  We'll be having hamburgers cooked in the George Foreman and French fires cooked in the air fryer.  We'll pass on the drink and the wine.

@smitty34877  Terry, I'm glad you are enjoying your relaxing time on Cape Cod.

@grapau27  Graham, I'm glad that Sarah is feeling better, and hope she is over this horrible virus soon and with no lasting effects.

@dfish  Debbie, safe travels tomorrow.

@cat shepard  Ann, another great meme today.

@Vict0riann  Ann, sending positive thoughts for a negative test for both of you.  Also, sending positive thoughts for an easy time at Heathrow and for safe and on time flights.

@kazu  Jacqui, I'm really enjoying your flowers.  It's too hot and dry here this year for any flowers.  All my plants, what few I have, are drought tolerant.

@durangoscots  Susan, that is impressive the ER saw you quickly and has called twice.

@Cruising-along  Carolyn, that's a cute picture of the kids.  Glad you found someone with a lower estimate.

We have been to Monte Carlo eight times, and all but one were on BHBs.  Our first time there was in 2001 on Golden Princess' inaugural TA.  In 2002 and 2004 on Noordam III we made three stops there.  We were also in MC in 2008 on Prinsendam and three stops in 2019 on Veendam.  Many times, we took the train to Cannes or Nice, and once to Genoa.  In 2019, we stayed in Monte Carlo, taking the city bus the first time and the Ho-Ho the second.  By the third stope there, we just stayed on the ship and relaxed.

There is a "new" dock in Monte Carlo that can accommodate one small ship.  In 2019, we docked there twice and Oceania was there one time.  Before that, we always tendered in Monaco, with the exception of the time in 2004 Captain John Scott moved the Noordam to Ville France during the day because the seas were too rough.  Imagine our surprise and the train from Genoa rounded a curve and we could see the harbor but no ship.  They had a bus to take us to the Ville France.

These pictures are a compilation from all our visits to Monte Carlo.

The casino from the ship and the front of the casino looking across the circle in front of it.  In 2001, there was a fountain in the circle.

Near the fountain and behind me when I took this picture, there is a nice, tranquil park.  I didn't discover the park until 2019.

In 2019, we got a free ride on this self driving vehicle, which was a work in progress with a lot of jerky starts and stops.  There was someone with an tablet who control the vehicle, which seemed to be most of the time.

Good evening.

It is 20.34pm here and we are watching Below Deck in Thailand on UK TV.

I have an appointment with my doctor tomorrow who did my steroid injection in my knee.

I have lost 13lb in weight since I last saw him as I wanted to improve my arthritis pain in conjunction with the steroid injection.

I hope to get an injection in my other knee tomorrow.

Good luck at your appointment tomorrow Graham.  What a great job in losing weight especially with all those delicious meals you and Pauline enjoy so often.  You must have a very good metabolism.

I am almost all packed.   The only things left to pack are medications and toothbrush etc.  This is starting to get real!

@grapau27  Good luck tomorrow.   The success you've had with the first knee should be enough to get the second one on track as well.  Then, go, go, go.  The weight loss should be helpful as well.  Good job on that.

Thank you Graham for your always gracious comments.  Sharing our pictures is a nice way to relive our visits to various ports.  We do see the main sights of a port, but somehow, we also seem to see some of the out-of-the-way and offbeat sights too.

I'm glad the steroid shot is working so well, and hope you get on in the other knee. Steroid shots help DH with his sciatica and bursitis hip pain for several years.

Congratulations on the weight loss.  I'm also trying to shed some weight, and am down some, so I know it is not an easy task.

Thank you Sandi.

Cutting out chocolate, sugar sweets, biscuits, cookies and crisps makes a big difference for me and I have averaged 1300 calories a day for the last 2 weeks.

I hope you have an absolutely wonderful cruise.

I always take double my normal heart medication with me in case anything untoward happens while we are away from home.

That's wonderful!  Many of us could take a lesson from you in losing weight.  You must be very disciplined.  Your doctor will be very happy with you.

And thank you for your nice comments about Lenda's and my photos.  I agree with everything she said.

Thank you so much for your nice comments Lenda.

Pauline and I love travel and seeing yours, Sandi's,Ann and Kay's photos of places we have never been to is extremely helpful and interesting.

Graham, you lost me at cutting out chocolate and  sweets, but I do limit them.  I have four pieces of dark chocolate in the in the afternoon, and then we have desert, either ice cream or something else.  I tell myself I can have the chocolate since it's dark and good for me.  Lately, I have be putting the food on the plates and not having serving bowls on the table most nights.  That helps limit the amount of food we eat, and I've been trying to cook healthier too.

Of course, that can all go out the window on a cruise.  Usually, the cruise weight will come off easily when we get home, and now, I'm shedding some non-cruise weight too.

Well done for losing weight too Lenda.

Dark chocolate is good for you.

I eat far too much milk chocolate and sugar fruit flavored bon bons sweets and cookies so cutting them out and eating lots more salad, fruit and vegetables which are low in calories makes it easier for me.

Pauline counts the calories on my meals and I keep a running total on my phone's calculator.

I am drinking more fluids which stops me feeling hungry.

Graham.

Good afternoon! I searched and searched for my Monte Carlo pictures that I posted previously but must not know how to search on CC very well. But no problem, others posted better pictures than I have. We were there in May 2001 and tendered. I believe it was the Rotterdam. A beautiful day. We went to the Palace and saw Princess Grace’s tomb and the Casino. We actually went inside the Casino and I played some slots. Of course, didn’t win. It was a great day. This past time, last month, I didn’t go into Monte Carlo when we were in Villefrance because poor Craig was in covid jail.

Prayers for all, especially Buddy, Tana, Camilla and family, Jacqui, Sarah, Joy’s sister. And my aunt battling a spinal issue.

Ann @marshhawk— I’m with you on the heights issue. As a child we would go skiing in the Colorado mountains and I hated it with all the mountain driving and would just go to sleep in the back seat so I didn’t have to deal with it. Then being forced to ski— oh my, don’t get me started.

Have a great day everyone!

Hope everyone is safe after the fierce storms last night that came through MD.

We were lucky. Very little damage on our side of town, but just a mile or two away, the winds did quite a lot - trees crashing through roofs, crushed cars, etc. But other parts of the state were even worse.

Thumper was fascinated with the weather report on tv...

I was just notified a few minutes ago that Buddy has passed away.  My twin and her DH were able to be with their daughter Amy at her home.  I'm sure the two kids are there too but I have no more details.  It's not easy becoming a widow, but especially at age 47.  May he rest in peace.  Pray for strength for the family.🙏😢
