Hadn't seen this here, apologies if I just missed it. Probably more to the story coming.

Very sad 😞  Literally just booked the central park overlook room this evening.  I feel so bad for his parents.

It's sad. There's no way to fall off a balcony under ordinary circumstances. One has to be fooling around, jump, or be pushed. A friend of mine in college used to climb around on the outside of the balcony rail of our dorm. It scared me to see her doing that, but kids don't realize how dangerous such stunts can be.

Saw some posts on Reddit from people on the cruise, he was apparently climbing on the outside of the balcony railing....a stunt gone very bad.

Yep- this is what I've read a few places now... he was climbing from one balcony up to the one above him

I was on this sailing. I heard the call for blood donations at 3am as I was walking from the casino back to the cabin. The family posted on our FB group, and thanked everyone that showed up to donate, but then also asked for privacy. Apparently TMZ and other news outlets contacted members of the FB group, to try to get information.

Regardless of knowing that there had to be some bad choices being made by a 16 year old (it's not like 16 year olds are known for good choices) I feel so bad for this young man and his family.

And don't forget alcohol.  Whether it's fooling around or pushing, alcohol could help.

Someone once said, "You can tell a child he will get burned if he touches that candle or stove but until he actually does, he won't KNOW he'll get burned."  Common sense is where you believe it before you get burned.  In this case...much too late....prayers
