P&O Cruisers - What are things like where YOU are?

Good Morning Everyone.

As Bob says - things are slowly getting back to normal and face to face GP and hospital appointments are once again becoming possible. We opened our doors last week and we've so enjoyed seeing our regulars again. As a fairly small practice (6,000 patients) we have a first-name relationship with a lot of our patients. We have quite a high percentage of lonely oldies, some of whom just come in for a little chat with our Reception Staff. So we were delighted when our oldest patient who is over 100 telephoned to ask if she could come in and bring cakes - oh yes! We gave her tea, ate her cakes, and had a lovely catch up. So rewarding to make someone happy with such a small gesture. She had a great time!

I am starting to get impatient now to read some actual cruise reviews. P&O's first sail is 27th June. Is anyone from the gang on that one?

Have a great day everyone. Best wishes to all. Jane.x

Good luck Kalos and Graham on your hospital appointments today.  You may be able to finally usr the parasol today Kalos and I'm sure Graham will have his usual McDonald's with sea view later.

It is good Kalos that they are checking your heart.

Hopefully everything is good and maybe they might have further treatments to improve your heart function.

Hope your hospital appointments go well Kalos and Graham. My routine GP telephone appointment last week seemed to result in  a lot of 'forgets'.The GP recommended that I try a new medication and then forgot to add it to my repeat prescriptions! When I went to pick it up I had 'forgotten' to take my phone. The pharmacist asked for my phone number which I 'forgot'(I had to ask hubby to come in so he could look at his contact list!)The pharmacist wrote the number down on a piece of paper but 'forgot' to write down my name so I received a phone call later on from the pharmacy asking who was I ??

I too like the look of MSC Virtuosa from what I have seen and its making me more excited about my seacation in September

Hope everyone has a good day.It certainly helps me feel better when the sun is shining 🙂

But, when ABBA won with Waterloo, one of the best pop songs of all times,  guess how many votes the UK gave it ?

The answer is, less than one!

Of course,  the biggest travesty is when My Lovely Horse got no votes,  despite an epic video.

We don't get many votes because some of our European friends don't get us. When Eurostar started Paris to London , having the London Terminus at Waterloo didn't impress them much. They could then pop along to the National Gallery in Trafalgar Square🤣

Graham & Kalos, hope all goes well today with your Hospital appointments.

A better day here today but certainly not warm enough for May. Hopefully the temperatures will rise later in the week.
Lunchtime dog walk calls, have a good day everyone

We once asked for cream to go in our coffee in Marks, told sorry we have run out, when I said you must be able to get some from the food hall they said we can't do that.

On another occasion in a Waitrose  cafe we asked for lemon in or tea, they had none but went straight off to get some from the adjacent shop.

A few years ago we were in a well known cafe in St Petersburg specialising in doughnuts.

The lady serving me put sugar in my coffee.  I said to her in Russian that I didn't want sugar.  She told me not to stir it!

Saw the same cafe on a repeat of Hairy Bikers recently.  Si got similar service when he asked for a machiatto...

Think I will apply for next year.

They said you have to give the audience a good laugh and my voice would certainly do that.🤣😩

What a good idea Graham. There must a few of us with the same melodic tone as you. We could enter as 'The Cruise Critic Choir'. We must stand a better chance the the usual offerings.

Ha ha. That would most certainly ensure we get nil points once again!

Good luck to everyone with hospital appointments.....

I have two sets of people viewing my house today so been busy with housework. Last job is always checking behind sofas etc for any items of underwear that Freddie (dog) has pinched and hidden as not the best look!

I am another contender.  I sound good in my head, but the notes that come out of my mouth are a different matter, so my family tell me!! 🤣

That was probably the case with the UK singer this year!

We turned it on late and the first thing we caught was the run through of clips of all the performances. It took a while for me to realise it was different songs and not the same one because they mostly sounded the same. How we can be considered the worst of all that dross beggars belief. Time to pull the plug on the whole sorry ‘event’ methinks.

Hi Jane I’m on that first one but I won’t be able to do daily reports because of WiFi , but I will certainly write about it when I get home and with photos, I also think Bobstheboy is on the same cruise too but I might be wrong.

Kalos hope your hospital appointment go well and results are good.🤩

Graham hope your eye test results are good too 🤓

Well, we have had an eventful morning..

Had to call an ambulance for Michelle as she was being sick, couldn't breathe and passed out...

Tried 111 for advice first but after ten minutes of Covid instructions and we are busy, call back later messages, gave up and called 999...

Paramedics arrived just as I finished the call, how is that for service...

She didn't want to go to hospital so the doctor reluctantly agreed she could stay home after prescribing different anti sickness medicine, as long as I stayed with her and monitored her breathing.

She is settled now, snoring loudly😴

Hats off to the ambulance service and doctors/pharmacy for acting so quickly, just a shame 111 is clogged up with what should be common sense messages..

Oh goodness, that’s not good, poor Michelle! I think snoring is allowed under the circumstances 😊 I hope she recovers quickly!
Brilliant response from the ambulance 👍🏻

Oh my goodness Andy - what a fright for you both but delighted Michelle has been able to remain at home and is now asleep.

Someone was telling me this morning that as a local paramedic he had not had to take any Covid patients to hospital in 8 weeks. Now that is splendid to hear.

I hope you both feel better soon.

I hope Michelle is feeling better soon. It certainly sounds like it was excellent service from the NHS
