Today is Pinot Noir DAY. The wine of the day is a cab..

Thanks.  I knew that I should pay more attention.  Should realize that if looks like ten people are wrong and I am right, it is probably the otherway around.

I am sure your doctor will refer you and, if you have checked out places, tell them the one you want.

As a person who has broken too many bones in the last decade I can’t tell you how valuable physical therapy is.  They gear the exercises to your progress.

I had a brace on my arm (like you) and it was a PITA.  2 weeks before we were supposed to cruise, on pins and needles, the surgeon told me I could take the brace off forever (it was supposed to be adjusted two more times)

I had several PT sessions and worked feverishly at my exercises.  The last two meetings were how to accelerate the exercises while I was cruising.

The first one was going over the different sets and when.  The second one was making sure I understood them all.  Money well spent.

I went on that cruise with my arm in a sling unable to do much with the broken elbow that had been operated on and 30 days later, I was pulling my own carry on off.

Sorry for the long post, but definitely do the PT and the exercises.  It will make a huge difference, believe me.  I was supposed to have lost 15-25% mobility.  I lost around 3%.  The surgeon was astounded when I returned for the check up and then to get the wires/pins whatever out due to my skinny elbows.

Thanks Jacqui. You are a wonderful role model!

Good morning.  Bad poetry day, who knew.  Love Daffodil's and not a fan of Pinot.  The Koontz quote is spot on.  I wish more people would follow it.  Will save the meal for another day.  Thank you for the recipe Debbie.  Have not been to today's port.  @Mr. Boston I'm sorry about your SIL.  Prayers for you and your family.  On a happier note, Happy Birthday.

Prayers and toasts to our lists.

Stay safe, social distance, and continue to wear your mask.

Today's drink is for you Father.

Brandy Alexander:

A Brandy Alexander is a brandy-based dessert cocktail consisting of cognac, crème de cacao, and cream, that became popular during the early 20th century. It is a variation of an earlier, gin-based cocktail called simply an Alexander. The cocktail known as Alexander today may contain gin or brandy. Wikipedia
Ingredients: 1 oz (1 part) Cognac, 1 oz (1 part) Crème de cacao, 1 oz (1 part) Fresh cream
Preparation: Shake and strain into a chilled cocktail glass. Sprinkle with fresh ground nutmeg.
Served: Straight up; without ice
Standard garnish: Grated nutmeg
Drinkware: Cocktail glass

Thank You. It is like a milk shake with a kick to it.

Good afternoon, all. I’m late to the party today, as we were transferring back to Salt Spring for DD’s last two weeks here. How the summer has flown! I’m not a fan of bad poetry, and it’s the wrong time of year for daffodils, but Rich had me at Pinot Noir!

The meal, sounds good, but we’re making this pizza night. That Chilean Cab Sauv would go nicely with either, though.

And yes, we’ve been to today’s port. Punta Del Este is sort of the vacation spot of Uruguay. I could happily live there, but likely couldn’t afford to. While Uruguay is not an expensive place to live, Punta Del Este is their playground of the rich and famous so it’s the exception to the rule!

Approaching town in the tender. The bow of the Amsterdam in view.

Good morning everyone and thanks for the daily report Rich, always look forward to it.  I think that I could write excellent bad poetry.  Seems a little late to be celebrating daffodils, they’re long gone from here.  Pinot Noir, sure, why not.  A bittersweet day here, we lost our dear SIL Marcie yesterday afternoon to her battle with cancer and will be attending shiva this evening and today is my 60th birthday.  Life is funny sometimes.  Today’s quote is very inspirational and the meal suggestion sounds great.  I think that I may have had today’s drink before.  I haven’t been to today’s port and look forward to the photos.  Prayers for everyone on our prayer list and cheers to everyone celebrating a happy event today.🥳

I’m so sorry about your dear SIL. My condolences to you and your family.

😞So very sorry to hear about Marcie @Mr. Boston💉I heard some good news about everyone being eligible for the booster in mid-September.

My favorite red wine is Pinot Noir and it seems to be the priciest when you order out!🍷 ( very popular here in California)

Please be safe CC Family!😷

I had to go back and look at the first page and @cat shepards description of the wine.  It is a cabernet sauvignon and every person who mentioned wine today talked about a pinot noir.  What is up with that?

One of the days Rich listed was Pinot Noir Day.

Good evening!

Well, I think I’m officially gone off my rocker. I got another upsell offer to a Neptune Suite Aft Wrap and couldn’t resist, especially after reading all the recent comments about how great they are, like @Crazy For Catssaid. So now I need to print luggage tags for the 3rd time. We haven’t been in Neptune Suite since our 2001 Med cruise on the Rotterdam and back then they weren’t called Neptune Suites and the Neptune Lounge had only been recently added. So this will be a splurge.

Have a great evening everyone!

That is GREAT!   We don't book the Neptunes often, but were in one for our last Alaska run.  It is the PERFECT itinerary for a Neptune -- grabbing snacks and beverages while looking at wildlife and nature from the huge balcony...fabulous. So much fun!  Yaaay!

I'm so excited for you!

Just finished reading all of this.  I am home alone so no interruptions.

Love daffodils.  Always the first sign of spring flowers here.  Pinot Noir is my favorite.

Thank you Rick for your dedication to the Daily.

Glad you are on the mend, Roy.

Prayers to all on the care list and extra prayers for the loss of loved ones.

Cheers to all celebrating.  Especially for negative covid tests and cruises coming up.

Stay safe and well everyone.  Thanks for all the pictures and positive posts.

From the beginning I was able to very gingerly drink water from a cup.  I also had a milk carton with a built in straw and by evening I was able to eat some mashed potatoes,   applesauce, cannned fruit, and ice cream.

I’ll pass on that meal selection of the day!😉

Thanks for all the daily information, photos and humour.

Daffodil Day is appropriate for us, I have a pot of miniature Daffodils flowering on the deck.  Some of the daffodil bulbs I planted in the garden when we moved here are late this year, starting to shoot up now.  perhaps a few warmer days will help them

We have a lovely sunny day, temperature 16  C.

@Mr. Boston a bittersweet day for you, condolences on the loss of your SIL.

@dfishhope your new landscaper will be  satifactory.

@cat shepardyou will be so pleased when the cast is removed.

Update on the Delta Covid situation, another 11 new cases today, total 21.  two of these have been admitted to hospital.

Stay safe, take care everyone.

I have some good news from my liver transplant friend! This is from his wife: “the doctors say he is doing much better. He is well over the worst of Covid with just a lingering cough. It is quite a testament to both the power of prayer and that vaccine he got! They believe the vaccine enabled him to weather the crazy new variant despite the immunosuppressant drugs he is on. He may get out of isolation this weekend!” Thanks to all of you who have joined in prayers. Prayer is indeed a powerful medicine. And hallelujah for the vaccine!

St Louis Sal

Thanks for sharing this good news, best wishes for his continuing improvement.
