Pass on the menu suggestion but would try the drink. There is nothing Chianti-like grown in the Finger Lakes, so I'll suggest the 2020 Teroldego from Red Tail Ridge.

 

I filed my income tax returns this morning. I had done the preparation a month ago, but I've learned not to file in February: every time I've done that, I've received a corrected document soon after. This year it wasn't a corrected document, but a missing one. Well, not actually missing, but not on the company's website when I checked on the morning of February 15, which was the deadline for it. It could have been posted later the same day. I also made a projection for 2024, using the 2023 software.

 

I'm just in from taking a cloud observation for NASA's Globe Observer project. They are particularly interested in having them from now until after the eclipse, which will be 98% total here (but there is a 74% chance of cloud cover, according to the weather records). The project will accept observations taken at any time of the day, but especially wants reports from the times when a weather satellite was overhead, which today was at 12:07 p.m. There will be another one this afternoon, at a time that isn't convenient for me.

 

I received notices from the main library and from a restaurant that they were  closed because of a transformer explosion downtown. A television station in the affected area reported that it was caused by a squirrel.

Very mixed day here. Started with partly cloudy, then storm clouds began arriving as we were leaving my GI appt. Stopped at Home Depot and it poured!  Spring!  
 

Another appt booked!  That’s all I was looking for this year. I hope none will require follow-ups. 
 

I’ve been meaning to mention that I’m thrilled to see @Scrapnana Kathy on our list of cruises coming up!  Thrilled that she is well enough to cruise again!  I hope we get an update, and if I missed it I’m sorry but thrilled for her. Thanks to whomever forwarded her plans to the Daily. 
 

I spoke with my brother briefly, SIL is managing treatment so far, niece and brother are managing their schedules so far every day at the Rehab. One day at a time. 
 

So relieved for Ann and DSis!  
 

Newlywed granddaughter and her husband plan to visit tomorrow. It’ll be good to see them, haven’t since the December wedding… time flies!

Smooth travels to all away!  Lovely pictures of Trondheim. We were there twice on our up-and-back Hurtigruten cruise but it rained both times!  Amazing cathedral from 1070 or thereabouts… some took 100 years to build. Mind boggling what it took to build that back then.

@ger_77 I get nervous when I hear of people up on roofs.  Our roofer added heating strips this fall you just plug in to melt the snow and prevent ice dams.  It was very reasonable.  Having had one once and the amount of damage they can do, I was thrilled to find a way of preventing them.

Oh what a busy morning. Have tried several times to post, but things keep happening.

CONGRATS @Nickelpenny the universe gave you a big hug.

It was 61° headed to a cloudy 66° when I checked weather this morning. Don't know current temp, but it's raining again, so the pond in the backyard will become a lake and it will be too wet to mow - again.

I think I have as much mud inside as is outside.

Headed to another eval for PT, then more work, then labs later this afternoon w/more work in between. I would like to put something enjoyable on the schedule, but that will have to wait until tomorrow.

Our weather is still crazy but at least it's stopped raining, and in spite of the forecast showing cloudy all day, the sun made an appearance.  Now, we are alternating between a lot of sun and a lot of clouds.  We got 0.28 inches of rain, which the weeds that were missed by the hula ho are standing tall today.  Little do they know there will be a shower of ground clear in a day or two.  Right now, our temperature is 63F, which is higher than predicted.  By next week we'll be in the 70s and 80s until about the time we head back to Texas.

My prayer list keeps growing. We have a friend with Covid, a neighbor whose husband passed away yesterday after a long illness, friends who wanted to add insulation to their attic found broken, rotted, beams and a lot of water damage. Allen's body scan was canceled again, and got an email yesterday that our doctor left the practice. A new doctor wants to see him before he continues any more Dupixent shots for his eczema, so he's left with new breakouts again. And last added but not serious, our girlfriend driving home got caught in the rainstorms and she got a flat tire on the freeway.

Well! There's 2 bucks behind our fence that just tipped our bird feeders, chomping away, after Oliver and I just filled them. There's baby bunnies eating strawberries in our yard. It looks like 3 strawberries are enough to fill their tummies as they leave the 4th strawberry behind.

We're in for a run of nice days with temps in the 60's which is unusual for us at this time of year. Not to get our hopes up as rain is back in the forecast by Wednesday. 

No to the days but yes to celebrating tomorrow's anniversary of the Daily! Today is busy as I have company coming in for lunch. The menu is Greek Lemon Soup and homemade rolls along with cookies and a Lemon Pound Cake for dessert. We're all retired educators at the same school so it should be some interesting conversation.

It's been rainy and cloudy here, and 50F. I slept about 5 hours, but had napped for 3 hours in the afternoon yesterday. I finally feel like this head/chest cold is leaving. I have PT in early afternoon, then I'll just putter around the house sorting through stuff to donate or keep. I'm still waiting on the contractor finding a new radiator to replace the damaged one.

@Crazy For Cats I'm glad you got your tickets straightened out. Last night I started hearing this beeping - it was the CO detector. It was flashing END meaning end of life and to replace with a new one. I'm glad it didn't go off in the middle of the night.

Good Afternoon,  we took off about an hour late this morning.   There was an issue with the conveyor belts that carry the luggage.  When we landed I called the hotel and we were picked up in under 15 minutes.  The driver was awesome and the van was full.  When I checked in I gave him a compliment and shared the December issue.  They let me know that the driver from December received many complaints and was let go.  Now I feel better about booking it in November.

We walked to Harbor Place, picked up a few things and had dinner at La Bamba. Maybe a drink too.

Well, sometimes I scrape the skin and coating off.  I eat the coleslaw.  As I am the only one who eats it, it is all mine.  And I don't have potatoes or gravy or biscuits.

Colin is not alone.  I deplore the lack of appreciation for other cultures.  

I guess it’s a lost cause that I find very sad.

And I wouldn’t go to that even if it were close by.  No one says St. Patty’s day here.  there’s enough Irish heritage that a bar would be boycotted and diversity is understood and mostly respected here.

Lots of great St. Patrick’s day celebrations - but none are EVER, ever called St. Patty’s day.
