Oh, my goodness.  @cruising sister Lorraine, Murphy is so cute!   Love those chubby cheeks.  The second picture is almost as if she's saying, "Don't mess with me!"

Haven't heard from the surgeon yet.  I'm guessing he won't have time to look at the results until the end of the day.  If I don't hear from him tomorrow morning, I'll call him.  I ran the results past my friend, John the doctor (not to be confused with my friend John the mayor or my friend John the grocery store manager).  I'm right on the border as far as muscle opening size is concerned, but certainly big enough for intestines to get caught and twisted.  John the doctor says it needs to be fixed soon.

No further news on any oxygen arriving.  Doing all my bad habits...and the meds they gave me?  One I have to take 4 times a day with food.  I am loving food right now.  I ate olives, and pickles and celery with peanut butter, and bring on dinner! (PredniSone)  However, the other med has to be taken on an empty stomach.  Ummmmm......There has been no sign of an empty stomach, so I guess tomorrow I will have to take it in the morning.  When I get up.....before I hit the on button on the coffee machine.

It was nice visiting...but I have to go back to work now.

I wonder what I can munch on until dinner..................

Thank goodness that Roy is on his way home.  I am sure it will feel great to walk through his from door.

Love the pictures of Murphy.  What a sweet child.  Can’t imagine the relief for her family.

Saw my doctor today as a follow up to my stay in the hospital Saturday for a severe migraine.  Now I am fighting nausea.  Taking medication and hoping I feel better soon,  Katherine

@Nickelpenny Thanks for your photos and commentary.  I will be doing the Hawaiian cruise in January of 2025.  Did you independently go to the Arizona and Missouri or were you on a tour?

Thanks to all who post port pictures.  Positive thoughts to all who need them.

Good evening everyone.  Whew what a busy day unpacking, laundry, dermatology appointment and beginning to decorate for the holidays.  Don’t have much time to respond to today’s daily other than to say hooray for @rafinmd’s release from the hospital and to offer prayers for those on our prayer list. Attached is the fruit of today’s labor (can’t quite figure out how I ever found time to work).

Got quite a bit accomplished, but of course, not everything I had planned.  Tomorrow I'll be working on the yard tying to pull all the weeds from the past two summers.  I hope to get the outside Christmas lights up.  We've been looking for a few things, mainly DH's things, and I'm beginning to think they did not make it on the motorhome.  I remember taking them out to the port, and I think putting them down on a storage unit so I could open the door.  I'm beginning to suspect they are still sitting on the storage unit.  😱  It was such a hectic two weeks getting ready to pick up the new motorhome and then getting it ready to leave, I'm surprised as many things made it as they did.  Of course, they can be replaced, but it will take a while.  For some reason Amazon is taking a week to get things to us.

DH spent a frustrating afternoon trying to get the new Dish receivers to work with the TVs in the motorhome.  I think he was partially successful, and I can't repeat what he said about the process.

Good afternoon everyone.  Well I heard from Northern Michigan University and they sent the paperwork for their scholarship candidate and her CV shows a real passion for conservation so that is wonderful news.  Sadly Lake Superior State University has so far found no one for the $1500 and another $1000.   Really disappointing.   I said I would be doing this process next fall and I recommended whenever she has a student contact in the area of study for our awards to let them know there will be money to apply for in the fall and collect their name and phone number.

@Quartzsite Cruiser so happy you can find parts for your washer and I am glad it was your old one.   John fixed his own dryer once.

@superoma thanks for the update on your friend Dena.  I will pray for her.

@RMLincoln thanks for the information about Nuka Hiva.   I will talk it over with John.   He may come in later when my excursion ends and we can go to the marketplace.   I looked at some of the photos from the HA shorex reviews and it looked like there were some beautiful vistas during that excursion.  I have found I like to do excursions so I can see more of a port that I may never get back to or that weather prevents going.  Following Bill and Mary Ann's blog on their Tales of the South Pacific on the Volendam this month they had to miss a port or two due to weather not allowing tendering.

Nancy, until recently, DH has fixed almost every thing that needed fixing.  Now, it's time to let me or others do the work.  We were in Nuka Hiva in 2002 on Volendam, and I think very few ships had been there before.  There were no shore excursions, but some of the locals were at the pier with their cars and offered to show us the island.  Along with two of our tablemates, we had a lovely afternoon seeing the unspoiled island.

@ottahand7  Nancy, to give you an idea of Nuka Hiva away from the waterfront and along in the town.  This is what I posted on  April 21 of this year when Nuka Hiva was the port of the day.

We have been fortunate to visit Nuka Hiva twice.  In 2002 on the Volendam APEC cruise and in 2004 on the Tahitian Princess.  In 2002, there were no tours offered as it was a relatively new port, but we were lucky to find a French lady who gave tours in her Land Rover Discovery.  The first group of pictures are from our 2002 tour.  I will not show the Survivor Beach again.

On our tour, we drove into the interior of the island, and our first stop was at a small hotel and restaurant where we had a beer and fried taro, which was good.  We also got a look at their hydroponic garden and some of their fields.  I thought the gardens might interest the Garden Club.

Next was the remains of a church

Back in town, we stopped at the local church and a statue of John Paul II.

Back at the dock, the Executive Chef, F&B Manager, etc, were buying the fresh catch from local fishermen.  They told us the fish were for the crew and not for the passengers.

In 2004, we stayed in town and walked around.  We also took a truck to a restaurant on top of a hill where we had the most expensive cokes at $7 each.  The expensive view of town from the restaurant and the restaurant.

Good evening everyone!

Hope all are relaxing and enjoying the evening.

@cruising sister thank you and thanks to your family for sharing sweet Baby Murphy's picture and success; I agree she is a miracle and we are blessed to have her be a part of our daily family. She is looking great! I giggled when I saw her pictures. IMO she will now grow up into her own person as babies do; I am praying she will outgrow some of her current health challenges. That can happen with babies. She is strong and IMO it is the red hair...lol. I have redheads in my family and they are strong people. Continued prayers for her as she grows and your family.

@rafinmd, oh my gosh, I hope you are ok to travel home. Please be gentle with yourself and ask for help if needed. So sorry this happened but very happy the hospital was able to help. Rest when you get home.

Prayers for all of us as we can all use them in the world we live in now and especially those who are suffering with illness.

@dfish, again I am disappointed in our medical community with putting you off when it came to your CT results. You are more patient than I would be with them, I am so glad you sent a complaint. You shouldn't have to babysit the healthcare industry to get good care.

Everyone, celebrate your joys!

My thanks for all who have posted any contributions here; lots of learning and big laughs for me. It is a great addition to my day.

Safe and fun travels to all who are traveling.

Take care all and be safe,

Caron

Thanks for all the daily information, humour and port photos.

On this first day of summer we have mostly cloudy weather, occasional sunshine.   Needed a jacket when I went for a walk earlier.

@superoma  hope that your friend Dena promptly recieves the appropriate treatment.

@dfish    am pleased that your CT scan has now been read.

@cruising sister  thank you for sharing the photos of dear little Murphy.

@marshhawk  am concerned that it takes so long for you to recieve the oxygen.

@rafinmd   safe travels home.

Must return to decorating the Christmas tree, some adjusting of ornaments is required.!

Lorraine, what a beautiful little girl!  We are so thankful the family felt safe enough to share her with us.  It's been a long struggle and she is doing so well!  Hoping she continues to improve and has a normal life with her wonderful family.

Debbie, finally you have the results.  I hope you talk to the surgeon tomorrow and come up with a plan, soon!  You've been patient enough!

Well, I'll have to try to be patient and wait until I have the ability to share our good news.  Hopefully tomorrow, but I won't promise anything.  But it's worth the wait, at least to me it is!  I'm going back to watching last night's Survivor episode.  Then I still have Amazing Race which will have to wait until tomorrow.  I seem to wake up at 3 a.m. every day no matter whether I go to bed at 9 pm or 11 pm so I suppose I should try for earlier to get more hours in.  Good night everyone!

I'm not able to say anything about my news until it's official.  Could take all day and I'm not very patient sometimes.  Bear with me!

Sandi @StLouisCruisers, doesn't this apply to most of us-patience is a virtue, they say but never explain how to achieve it.

Just saw this in a news item about the new RC Icon of the Seas. Not the sort of voyage I'm look for! With each trip, the vessel will carry anywhere between 5,610 and 7,600 guests plus 2,300 crew members.

And I just had exciting news from DD. She and her DH have found a new house. They have been dealing with the neighbors from HE**. Their current house was built around 1900 and has 18 very steep steps up to the bedroom where I stay. At their altitude, it's a challenge. New place is all one level with 57 acres instead of their city lot. Quite a change but only 10 minutes from her shop in town. I'm excited to see it-next spring after the chance of closed mountain passes has ended.

I did the small group tour. We had 21 people on it. BUT others took basically the same thing for ~$100 less.  More people though.
