Good afternoon. Thanks for the Fleet Report/Daily.

The one musician I know well isn't around to hug. I had to look up pupusa, as I didn't know what it is; I think I'd like it. Sadie Hawkins day was fun in elementary school. Interesting quote. I'd take the meal without coconut (I can do coconut milk, just not shredded coconut). Yes to the drink and wine. I haven't been to Dublin. A cool day in space history.

It's another nice day, started at 32F, currently 51F and sunny. As usual, I'm not doing much. Only 2-1/2 hours sleep. At 2:30AM I sent off a message to the Neurosurgery PA asking if there was anything else I could do to ease this terrible pain, until my MRI. This morning I had to stop and sit 3 times just making my coffee. The DM of my DD friend Ruth is coming from the UK on Wednesday. If I go to the airport with BFF, I think I'd have to stay in the car, as I couldn't walk from the parking garage into the terminal without pain and having to stop multiple times. 

@StLouisCruisers That's good news that Scott is home; he can continue to work on his recovery in a familiar environment. Thanks for the Dublin photos.

@durangoscots So sad and difficult about the cats, especially the ones who had to be euthanized. We just had something similar with a hoarder; they took out about 100 cats and another 30 were dead inside. The woman's husband had died, and she was in the hospital; she did surrender them.

Good afternoon. Thanks for the Fleet Report/Daily.

Haven't had a french dip in ages; not my favorite. Pneumonia kills many older folks and people with multiple health issues; thank goodness for antibiotics and vaccines. I will celebrate happy hour today!  I don't get Mel Brooks' quote. Yes to the meal, drink and wine. I haven't been to Havre-Saint-Pierre. Look how the WWW has changed the world!

It's another nice day, currently 50F and sunny. Well, not sure what went on last night. I thought I slept a bit better, but both my Apple watch and Fitbit say I got a little over 2 hours of sleep! And of course on arising, after standing to brush my teeth, the terrible leg pain and numbness started. I hobbled downstairs and made coffee. I feel ok sitting, but can only get up for short periods before it all comes back. The yard could stand a last mowing. I just heard from the person I contacted about an estimate for lawn care and snow removal; he's coming by later to check it out and formulate an estimate.

@57redbird I hope you get to see the spine surgeon soon. My MRI is 2 years old, and it's not clear if this is from spinal stenosis (that was mild), a bulging disk or nerve root stenosis. So after seeing the neurosurgery PA, I need a repeat MRI, that's not until Dec 1. Then I see the neurosurgeon. I managed to get in a bit earlier for that by changing which office I'll go to.

Good morning. Thanks for the Fleet Report/Daily. 

It's an important day to remember all who have served their country. It was an experience going to Normandy this year on my TA cruise.

Angola is no doubt celebrating it's independence day. I like origami, but haven't really tried it myself. Education is essential for our development. Not sure about the quote. I like the meal, but too many carbs to eat it often. Pass on the drink and wine. I haven't been to Crete.

It's sunny, but we may not get past 50F today. I had the usual bad sleep, and even tried a Benadryl at 2AM, but this AM I had so much pain in my leg I could barely get down the stairs and then make my coffee. Now that I've been sitting a while it has eased off. I really need to tidy up around here and hope I can get the banana bread made. I bought a stool to use in the kitchen so that I can sit and work at the counter. I took a muscle relaxant a bit ago, and can already feel myself getting drowsy.

@RMLincoln Good luck with all the last minute stuff before the packers come. And it sounds like DH has his hands full with all the admin stuff. I know you two will get done what needs to get done. And we're cheering for you!

@Cruzin Terri I do hope DH is feeling better today. Will you be able to get some assistance for him for boarding the ship, like a wheelchair?

@Nickelpenny I'm sorry to hear it's been so hard for you to get an appointment at the pain clinic. These days everything is in the EMR regarding referral, if you stay in the same system. That Vertiflex procedure sounds interesting. Sorry for the rigamarole with the surgeon's office too. Sheesh!

Forget me not, as in flowers, raise money for disabled veterans. Accounting is important. I'd prefer a chocolate cupcake. I like the quote. Maybe on the meal if someone makes it for me. Pass on the drink and wine. I haven't been to Cagliari. 2 good days in history. When going around in Germany you'll see chunks of the old Berlin wall on display in different cities; and around the world.

It's cloudy and chilly here today. Same sleeping issues, but maybe I got 4 hours by taking a Benadryl before bed. Maybe the increased Gabapentin is helping a little, as I was able to change the bed linens without as bad pain as I was anticipating. I will be speaking to the social worker later; I found out it was the Rheumatology office that requested it.

@Nickelpenny You sound like me, starting with a referral to a pain clinic. Is one of the procedures the epidural steroids? I understand about wanting to remain active, something I can't do right now. I find NSAIDS don't help with nerve pain. Wishing you the best outcome!

@ger_77 I'm glad to hear about DH's great report from the Device clinic. 

@RMLincoln I'm sorry to hear that DH needs eye surgery and prayers that it will be successful. I spent a few months at Wilmer Eye Institute way back in the 70's - great place!

@Vict0riann I can empathize with your trouble walking. I hope you're enjoying the cruise despite that and the changes in itinerary. 

@dfish Good luck with the CT scan. Thanks for the recipes (too much work for me though). 

@ottahand7   I'm glad you're doing well after the tooth extraction.

@aliaschief I do have one usb-c brick that I think came with an iPad. I bought a couple of adapters from C to A, so I can use old cables. I don't know if that will affect charging speed.

We have the Carnegie Museum of Art here, but I won't be going to it today. I'll salute World Freedom Day and Carl Sagan. True quote. Maybe on the meal, pass on the drink (cake mix in a drink?) and wine. I've been to Italy, but I haven't been to Palermo.

This morning was rainy, and it's still cloudy. Temp is 55F. I slept a little better, I think from the dose of Benadryl I took for my RA injection last evening. But I had weird dreams and woke up half out of bed (I normally sleep in one spot and don't move much). Not much on the agenda today, as I can't walk around without pain; I hate to sit so much, but it's the only way I get relief. I need to make some banana bread (as muffins) with the browning bananas I have.

I used to play the piano, but don't consider myself a pianist (I still have my childhood piano). Radiology changed medicine. I'll take a cappuccino. Good quote. Maybe on the meal, pass on the drink and wine. I haven't been to Sarande. 2 good days in history.

It's cooler today, but mostly sunny. Yesterday was gorgeous, with a high of 67. Well, my time of feeling better was short lived, lasting about 8 hours. When I was making dinner, the standing started the leg pain and numbness. Sleep last night was back to 4 hours total, interrupted by bouts of awakening due to pain. I went to PT today. I just did stretches. I tried the recumbent bike but that caused too much pain. Ended my session with hot packs on the back and leg. I'm playing phone tag with the person who's to schedule the Social Worker call. She left a message while I was at PT, but I couldn't make out who she said ordered it.

@StLouisCruisers Thanks for mentioning STEAM, which has been important in getting more girls into science, technology and math. 

@kazu Your bursary story must have been lovely, and from the heart.

@Cruzin Terri Although costly, you want your car in good shape for the drive to FL. Draining the knee is usually a simple procedure, and provides relief.

Good evening. Maybe I have a modicum of hope. Despite a bad night last night, and hobbling down the stairs this morning, I did the leaf blowing for several hours this afternoon. I mainly had only the old muscular back pain, and no bad leg pain. Then I came in and had a 2 hour nap in the recliner. Dare I hope that maybe the injection is finally doing something, and it just took a while to work (it will be 3 weeks tomorrow since I got the epidural)? It will be interesting to see how tonight's sleeping goes. This few hours without pain has been wonderful!

@Cruzin Terri It's good to hear that Jim is doing better with his knee issue.

Good morning. Thanks for the Fleet Report/Daily.

Cancer is something I hope research can one day conquer; in the meantime we need to do our screening tests. I'll hug one of my stuffed bears. Retinol (Vitamin A) seems to be all the rage for face serums. I like the quote. I'll take the meal, pass on the drink, and yes to the wine. I haven't been to Marmaris. 

Another nice day here. It was 61 this morning! Cloudy now, but some sun later. Same old same old for me. I don't know if I'll try any leaf blowing later.

@StLouisCruisers Amen to those awful political ads ending, as well as the messages to my cellphone! So far my working diagnosis is nerve impingement due to narrowing of the space where it exits the spine, either due to bone spurs or disc herniation, both seen on a 2021 MRI. It will be interesting to see what the new MRI shows. Sorry to hear your dear neighbors will be moving. Thanks for the Marmaris photos; and that's a nice picture of the two of you. Great news about Scott!

@Nickelpenny It will be interesting to see what your doctor tells you about the MRI, and hopefully has a path to get you feeling better.

@smitty34877 I too wish things could move along faster. I was thinking maybe the Social Worker to help with any services I might need since I live alone? Or they have you fill out those surveys about your mood now; and of course due to chronic pain I do answer that I sometimes have down days. Who knows? I hope to get a callback today. If I try to work outside I guess I'll have to forward the house phone to my cellphone.

I'm not into basketball. I will salute ladies learning code and saxophones. Funny Barry quote. Maybe on the meal, but lots of carbs. Pass on the drink and wine. I haven't been to  Pulau Komodo Island. An important day for Mexico.

It's lovely here right now, 65 and sunny. But windy. I'd thought of blowing the leaves, but I'm in too much discomfort. I got about 4 hours of sleep. The pain usually eases an hour or so after I'm up, but not today. I went ahead to PT, fearing I couldn't do anything with the severe pain. I mainly used hot packs, then did some stretching exercises. I don't know what I can do to feel better, sigh. Just got a message that "my provider" wants me to talk to a social worker; I don't know what that's all about.

@seagarsmoker Sorry about the subpar dinner and lack of activities. Lovely sunrise photos. Congrats on the 100 day medallions and attaining 4-star!
