Do you have a source for the Crystal Serenity information?  There's nothing about it on the Crystal forum and the ship is supposed to be there until early tomorrow morning.

It was posted on Cruise Critic Crystal by masscruiser2010 that 18 were tested positive late Wednesday. Barbados will be celebrating the start of being a Republic at midnight,  so maybe they will at least get to see the fireworks.

I just heard Betty White died this morning at her home at the age of 99.  She would have turned 100 on January 17.  She's always been a favorite of mine with her sweet but witty personality.  RIP!

She has been met at the Rainbow Bridge & escorted by the countless animals for which she advocated. Bless her.

That's old news from Wednesday and Serenity had been on it's itinerary.  With the spread of Omicron on land I doubt if there's a ship anywhere in the Western Hemisphere that has no cases.

Well, I am sorry to say that my New Year is off to a bad start.  Jose’s lumbar puncture results are back and there is NOTHING there to help.  He’s being started on O.T. & physio to determine his “baseline”.  They think it’s metabolic encephalopathy.  Still working on it.  This does not bode well. 😢. I hope and pray that I am wrong.

Happy New Year to Everyone!

We will just have a quiet evening here at home.  Picked up some shrimp and steak for dinner, but am leaning for shrimp tonight and steak tomorrow!  Will see what happens when I make dinner!

Sure will miss Betty White, never met her but over the years she has made us laugh>

Wishing you all well in the New Year!  Would be nice to meet many of you on a cruise in the future, you are all so warm, welcoming and caring.  I am glad to meet you "in print" everyday!

We went to New Zealand on the Statendam, out of Vancouver.  It was a memorable cruise!  Our second-to-last stop was Tauranga, and we took a ship's tour to a marai, where Pat and the other gents were persuaded to join in a haka.  A lot of my photos are like ones already on the thread.  We walked around after, and visited a beautiful beach, which seemed to go on for miles.

We then disembarked  in Auckland, and flew to Christchurch where we joined DSIL and her hubby for a driving tour of a couple of weeks.  We spent a few days in Rotorua, what I remember most was the terrible smell of sulphur all the time, but it was a fascinating area.  I think we went to three different areas of thermal action, and also visited the Agrodome where they demonstrate all the different breeds of sheep, and shearing.

Loved learning to do the Haka on one our cruises from the group that was on board with for us for some time. We were t good at it, but still fun.

These ports of the day bring back a lot of fond memories that have been buried for a while.

🎉Happy New Years Eve, all!🎉

Tonight, we (or, probably just I, as DH will likely be fast asleep) will watch the cherry drop from our downtown condo. (When you live in an area proclaimed the 'Cherry Capital of the World', a crystal ball just wouldn't do!)

Screenshot_20211231-132148.png.6dc2dd0e31e7b2cca882bb17aa929312.png

And, as the cherry drops, I will be offering up prayers and wishes for all to have happiness and health in 2022 -- and a cruise on a BHB in our future!

🎉Happy 2022 to you all!🎉

-Melisa

And I just received my Christmas present today from my sister who lives in Boyne Falls. The gift is from a company in TC called The Cherry Republic.  The chocolate covered dried cherries are addictive!

DH was so looking forward to watching the Georgia game tonight, and it's on cable, so he is listening to the radio.  Tonight's dinner was spaghetti and meatball individual casseroles, with melted mozzarella on top.  Guess we will be eating spaghetti for lunch for two or three more days.

Yesterday I ordered our books for our book club.  We stuck to Southern writers for 8 years, and then this year, we just chose books we wanted to read. Oddly enough two of us still chose Southern writers.  We are a pretty small group.  We lost one of the members to pancreatic cancer in 2020.  That made us stop meeting for a while, and then we gathered back up in October, handed in our reading requests, created the schedule, once every two months instead of monthly. So I am now ready for book club.

This evening, we had tornadoes north and south of us.  Not sure where STLouiscruisers live, but I hope that they are OK.  To me it's unusual to have tornadoes on New Years Eve, but the weather woman said we had them last year too.  Rich, dont worry about Athens, storms were in Covington and Social Circle. I will let you know Sunday what happens tomorrow night. Tomorrow night is supposed to be bad here in GA, and I guess this storm is coming in from the Arkansas, so I hope my MIL is doing OK.  DH calls his step mom on Sundays, so we can do our weather catch up then.
